Huggle message
Hey Pseudomonas! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers
I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/
Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.
Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 10:01, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
DOY pages
Hi, Have you seen the discussion here? I've put a proposal on the table to split the existing births/deaths lists into their own articles leaving (for now) a link to the new pages, and explicitly changing the inclusion criteria for the separate lists to be only that a "wikipedia page exists". If this ends up happening, would you be willing/able to change pseudobot so that it patrols the pages that would be created? -- Rick Block (talk) 16:41, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Is there any praticilar reason why did you erase me from the februaty 26th? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bolesni90 (talk • contribs) 17:39, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think the links left on your userpage cover it pretty fully. No page; additionally not obvious that the person would be a good candidate for having a page; additionally not in English on the English language wikipedia. Pseudomonas(talk) 09:31, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
CLARE WARD - died aged only 54 on Wednesday 6th March this year (last week!) 2015
CLARE WARD was a highly respected and Internationally renowned musician (Pianist, Violinist & Composer) - she died aged only 54 on Wednesday 6th March this year (last week!) 2015. It would be an outrage not to include her! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.200.189.248 (talk) 10:21, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- If she has a Wikipedia page, she can go on the date pages. If not, not. Pseudomonas(talk) 12:28, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
what is wrong with you?

Bots
You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.
What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.
This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.
If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!
- The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
- Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.
Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.
Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.
Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. Hi, my name is Paul Brunton and I have just written a book called "A Journey to Faith" which follows the genealogy in the Bible from Abraham to Jesus. I came across the beautiful image, "Finding the Savior in the Temple" by William Hunt that you have posted on Wikipedia and although it is in the public domain my publisher requires me to receive written permission to use it from the source who has uploaded it onto the internet. I would be grateful if you could write back to me to give your OK. Kind Regards - Paul Brunton PaulBrunton64 (talk) 09:39, 30 June 2015 (UTC) |
- Anyone who uploads anything to Wikipedia gives permission for it to be used according to the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. So go ahead, but you don't need to ask all wikipedia contributors in the future, assuming you're using in compliance with those licenses. Pseudomonas(talk) 10:39, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
No. No I did not.
Seriously tired of this. Whoever this bot is, I did not make any edits on that date, nor have I made edits in a very long time, so quit informing me that I did the wrong edit. No. No one has access to my account. FIX YOUR BLOODY BOTS! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.137.74.245 (talk) 14:31, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
