Ellipsanime
Ellipsanime had added the word "Productions" under the Ellipsanime logo since the 4th season of Yakari premiered in 2016, so can you rename the Ellipsanime article to Ellipsanime Productions to match the French Wikipedia's counterpart? 148.252.148.48 (talk) 10:00, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
Incorrect removal of Fair use image from Film’s article
Hi , i am editing Right People, Wrong Place which is a documentary film and have used a fair use image of the Film poster (followed all protocols for the image) . The image is not used anywhere else. Why is the bot removing film posters too even when acceptable. Please assist Jnc xavier (talk) 09:26, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) The bot was correct at the time it made the edit, since the image lacked a fair use rationale. You've now added one, so the bot will stop bothering you. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:32, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
Is it normal to delete images?
I am a Filipino and i want to put seals of places I have been to, but it deletes it. It took me a long time to find it and since I do like in the Philippines and I probably could use a seal of my place, can I actually use it? It may be not mine but I probably should a reference on where they came from or just some thanking. XiAndromedae (talk) 11:13, 2 July 2025 (UTC)
- It is routine policy enforcement. The non-free content policy prohibits the use of non-free images outside of articles (WP:NFCC#9). — JJMC89 19:24, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi
hey I was try to get access to ACC but it keep displaying "Form token is not valid, please reload and try again" I was wondering if you could help. Destinyokhiria 💬 17:18, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- I cannot. One of the tool roots might be able to look into the issue. — JJMC89 19:26, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
This bot keeps reverting my edits.

- (talk page stalker) the bot is correct, as the image is to only be used in Sony's Television (The non-free content policy prohibits the use of non-free images outside of articles (WP:NFCC#9)). Destinyokhiria 💬 22:33, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
- 1) It is an article! 2) The article on CBS Eye Animation Productions uses the CBS Studios logo since that company uses the CBS Studios branding. Similarly, Adelaide Productions used the contemporaneous Sony Pictures Television branding throughout its lifetime. Therefore, the latter article should use SPT's logo. However, the bot keeps removing it. —theMainLogan (t•c) 07:38, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Hi TheMainLogan. File:CBS Studios.svg is a public domain licensed file uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, whereas File:Sony Pictures Television logo color.svg is uploaded locally to English Wikipedia as non-free content; so, even though they're both corporate logos, the difference in their licensing means there's not subject to the same restrictions on use. So, trying to compare them in terms of Wikipedia policy is like trying to compare an apple to an orange. Non-free files are, for reference, subject to the more restrictive Wikipedia non-free content use policy and this policy is quite restrictive. There are ten criteria that each use of a non-free file needs to meet for its to be considered valid. The bot keeps removing the file every time you add it because of non-free content use criterion #10c: this is why the bot is linking to WP:NFC#Implementation is the edit summaries it's been leaving when removing the file. Anyway, criterion 10#c requires a separate, specific non-free use rationale be added to a non-free file's page for each time it's being used. Since you keep re-adding the file to Adelaide Productions without adding a non-free use rationale for that use to the file's page, the bot keeps removing the file. The bot will keep doing this each time you or anyone else adds the file without providing a corresponding non-free use rationale on the file's page. It's OK if didn't quite understand this, but now you do. As long as there's no corresponding non-free rationale for the file's use in the Adelaide article, the file will keep being removed regardless of who adds it. If someone repeatedly keeps adding the file each time the bot removes it, an administrator will eventually notice and either issue a formal warning to stop or issue a block for edit warring. Having posted that, adding the missing non-free rationale will stop the bot, but it doesn't automatically make that particular use of the file non-free content use policy compliant. What Destinyokhiria posted above is correct, but it's not really why the bot removed the file per se. As I mentioned above, Wikipedia's non-free content use policy is quite restrictive, and the way your trying to use the file (even if you were to provide a missing rationale) would almost certainly be considered non-policy-compliant because of WP:NFCC#3, WP:NFCC#8 and item 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. The Sony logo is pretty much OK to use in the main article about Sony Pictures Television because its main branding associated with that company; such a logo, however, is not considered OK to use in subsidiaries or affiliated companies of Sony Pictures because these are considered to be "child entities" of the "parent company", and the default has never been to allow child entities to use parent entity logos. If you disagree with this assessment, you can informally ask about it a WT:NFCC to see what others might think or even start a formal discussion about the file's use at WP:FFD to seek consensus in favor of the use, but I think you're going to have a hard time convincing others the file is OK to use in the Adelaide Productions article regardless of its connection to Sony. Now, if Adelaide Productions has its own unique and specific logo that it uses, then that logo file could most likely be uploaded and used instead. If Adelaide Productions has an official website or social media account, then perhaps any unqiue branding they might be using could be found there. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:06, 12 July 2025 (UTC)

SVG validation
Ref to User talk:JJMC89/Archives/2025/May, your bot seems to be skipping some files again. List here. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 06:56, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, it is the same issue as before. I'm not sure why some images get stuck in a HTTP 429 loop. Each would only be checked at most once a day. — JJMC89 16:33, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
Tag files without a license
Hello, would you be able to make your bot tag files without a license with {{Di-no license}}? I found File:Latvia national team logo.png and got surprised there isn't already a bot doing this. Jonteemil (talk) 14:41, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- I also thought there was already a bot doing this. I'll look into it. — JJMC89 16:36, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Perfect, I've now added a license to this particular file. Jonteemil (talk) 19:59, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
Notice of noticeboard discussion - JJMC89 bot is even removing files that do NOT violate WP:NFCC#9c
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue which a bot you created may be involved in

WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING MY SANDBOX
??? LIKE CAN I EDIT ANYWHERE Haloretailstore (talk) 02:39, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- ALSO U REMOVED A PIC OF AN ALBUM COVER WHICH IS LIKE… ISNT THAT FREE USE Haloretailstore (talk) 02:41, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Haloretailstore: I'm not JJMC89, but I will try to answer your question. First, though, posting message in all capital letters is generally seen as a form of WP:SHOUTing at someone over the Internet. I get that you're frustrated by the bot removing the file, but you won't get very far posting in all capital letters on Wikipedia. In fact, you might find that you end up getting the same response as you'll get from shouting at your TV, i.e., no response at all. So, please keep that in mind moving forward. As for the bot and the file, File:PinkPantheress - Heaven Knows.png is non-free content and non-free content is required to be used in accordance with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. This policy is very restrictive and one of the restrictions it places on non-free content is that such content can only be used/displayed in the WP:MAINSPACE (i.e., in Wikipedia articles). Such content can't used in user sandboxes. It's OK if you didn't know this when you copied and pasted the article Heaven Knows (PinkPantheress album) into your user sandbox, but that's why the bot removed the file. Finally, it's generally not a good idea to copy-and-paste entire articles onto other Wikipedia pages (even a user sandbox) because of things such as this and also because there could be licesning issues per WP:CWW (WP:RUU). While it's true that users are allowed to experiment and do other things in their user sandboxes that might not be allowed in Wikipedia articles, user sandboxes are still pretty much subject to many of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines; so, you still can't do whatever you want in your user sandbox and others (bots included) can edit your sandbox if there's something about it that's not in acordance with some (typically a major) Wikipedia policy or guideline. Our userpages and all of the other pages in our user namespace belong to Wikipedia; Wkipedia is just letting us borrow them on the condition that we follow relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines when using them. If we stray too far outside the lines too many times when using our user namespace, Wikipedia can just take it back from us without prior warning. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:46, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
Unblock request
This is a request to unblock the ip adress of anoter user whose mobile ip has been blocked.. Let me know can i do here it with ip address Akbarali (talk) 06:36, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- This is not the place to appeal a block. The blocked user should make the appeal themselves by following the instructions in the block message, not you proxying for them. — JJMC89 23:52, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
FYI: Some bad bot edits due to a bad template edit
I noticed in Special:Diff/1301631548 that your bot removed a link to a file via {{-r}} claiming that it was a use of the file. Ultimately I think it was due to these two edits to the template, which I've reverted. I also reverted the bad bot edits that I was able to find, but you might want to check your logs to see if I missed any. Also I had used the shutoff link for the task while investigating, and since it's a json page I wasn't able to fully blank it as the instructions specify. Anomie⚔ 02:04, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. Special:Diff/1297736023 was the cause. — JJMC89 02:56, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
User subpages ending in / again
Could you please comment at Mediawiki talk:Titleblacklist#"Bad user subpages (ending in /)"? I don't know if the ping didn't go through or you just missed it, but it seems to deserve some kind of response. —Cryptic 15:36, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
