Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created User:Insuranceteam/sandbox, and I noticed that your username, "Insuranceteam", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

Very sorry, this is my first time creating a wiki account and I was unaware of the username policy. This account will be used solely by me, no one else, guaranteed. I was trying to sound agnostic and more general insurance industry focused and didn't meant for it to seem like a shared account. I will absolutely change my username if allowed.  Insuranceteam (talk) 13:58, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You're blocked, not ChatGPT. -- asilvering (talk) 07:11, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, what's your relationship to Insurity? -- asilvering (talk) 01:42, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve been involved in projects related to Insurity and became aware that the company did not yet have a Wikipedia entry reflecting its acquisition history, etc. I saw an opportunity to contribute factual, well-sourced content to improve Wikipedia’s coverage of software providers in the P&C insurance space. I now realize that the username "insuranceteam" may have suggested a shared account, which was not my intent. I’ve already submitted a request to change the username to better reflect an individual contributor.
Since then, I’ve also spent more time reviewing Wikipedia’s guidelines around notability, neutrality, and conflict of interest. Based on that research, I plan to significantly revise and pare down the original content to meet Wikipedia’s standards, focusing only on verifiable information from independent, third-party sources. Hi there - I don't know how to reply to your decline reason of "You're blocked, not ChatGPT," but all I am looking to do is contribute to the content that exists in the P&C insurtech space on Wikipedia, starting with Insurity. It seemed like there was a gap in information available on this sector and I was just trying to make it a bit more comprehensive. I will gladly update my username if allowed and start my editing elsewhere besides Insurity. Appreciate the re-review. Insuranceteam (talk) 16:40, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
