Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist and topic subscriptions to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you!

Question from Aster66 (16:18, 24 January 2025)

[edit]

Hi, I would like to start a new Wiki page for Eric Fuchs (theologian) 1932-2023. (Perhaps his best known work is available at https://archive.org/details/sexualdesirelove0000fuch/) Can you advise the best way to create a new page? Thanks. --Aster66 (talk) 16:18, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! After reading Wikipedia:Your first article, the best way to get started on a new article is to use the Wikipedia:Article_wizard. This will add your draft page to the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process, allowing other editors to review your work. IffyChat -- 19:40, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from 22f (10:27, 26 January 2025)

[edit]

Hello! How do I make another sandbox? --22f (talk) 10:27, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! You can make as many user sandboxes as you want in your own user namespace. To make a new sandbox, go to your sandbox User:22f/sandbox and change the word "sandbox" in the page's URL to something else, and you can create a new page from there. More guidance on how pages in your User namespace can be used can be found at Wikipedia:User pages. IffyChat -- 11:48, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Jack Draper (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Disambiguation page not required (WP:ONEOTHER). Primary topic redirect points to an article with a hatnote to the only other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, I found an article, Tandem Accelerator Superconducting Cyclotron, that is one paragraph, if you can even call it that, and a link to the Canadian Penning Trap Mass Spectrometer. It has two references. I've done some research, and there's not that much out there. Is there anything I can do?

[edit]

Hello there, Iffy! I was wondering if you could take a look at some of my edits and make sure I wasn't affecting the tone of the articles negatively. Additionally, I have heard somewhere that userpages are meant to only be a little bit personal- is this true? Is mine violating this rule?

All the best, --Nugoti (talk) 06:29, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I've had a quick look at the edits you have made to Wikipedia articles and don't see any issues with tone there; Articles on Wikipedia should be written from a neutral point of view. As for your user page, I don't see anything on your user page that would go against the Wikipedia:User pages guideline. IffyChat -- 11:27, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.

I need assistance regarding citations. I created an article and added citations but the issue is that the citations could not be automatically generated so, they're bare URLs. Is there a way to change the format of the citations?

I would appreciated your assistance. --Slippery slope302 (talk) 09:23, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Yes, there are ways to update the citations from bare URLs to more useful citations; two tools that can help with this are Wikipedia:reFill and Wikipedia:CITATIONBOT. You could also try updating the citations manually, more information on citing sources can be found at Wikipedia:Citing sources. IffyChat -- 09:33, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

hello I simply, for now, just want to colorize and enhance pictures already on Wikipedia and put them back onto the same page. I need to find out how to do that in the most efficient and correct manner. Thank you for any suggestions you can pass along :-) --Carld45 (talk) 16:30, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Before you consider making any edits to a picture, you should check that the image is freely licensed (and therefore you have permission to make an edited version). Then, you can download the highest resolution version of the image. Your edited version should be uploaded as a separate file to the same project the original was uploaded to (Most images used on Wikipedia are uploaded to Wikimedia Commons) and with a license compatible with the original version's license. There's a lot of steps to go through if you want to get this done correctly; there's more information here at Wikipedia:Uploading images, and also at Wikimedia Commons.
