Deadline 5 (week 9) - WUXIAOTONG Bancy
[edit]Dear Professor,
I am currently studying Everyday life and Social structure. I have completed the English-to-Chinese translation.
This is the link of my article.
Please check, thank you. WUXIAOTONG Bancy (talk) 19:05, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- @WUXIAOTONG Bancy Good progress. Here are some suggestions for the next steps, applicable to all your articles.
- Complete the translation by adding the remaining content and references. Remember that all paragraphs need to be referenced, otherwise they will not count for our project and may be deleted from Wikipedia (per our syllabus and Wikipedia:Verifiability).
- Double check you blue links. Check whether all blue links are identical. Make sure you link to relevant articles in your target Wikipedia, not to other languages, when a relevant article exists. When a topic exists in another language than the one you are writing and results in a red link in your target Wikipedia article, you can use this tool to add a link to the original Wikipedia. On Chinese, use zh:Template:Interlanguage link multi .
- Can you add some pictures to the article? In particular, the peace flag seems to be missing any images. Ideally, you would find some on Wikimedia Commons.
- When your translation is finished, if you are creating a new article, you can publish it (move it the mainspace). See Wikipedia:Moving a page for how to do this. If you are expanding an existing article, see WP:MERGE instead.
- After publishing your article, if it is a new creation, please add categories (see bottom of the original articles for categories and try to add a similar one to your article).
- Please monitor the history of your page as well as your talk page on that project for feedback from reviewers. If your article is declined (moved back to draft/user space) you'll need to address any issues raised in order to republish it.
- You should also link the article to the original version you are translating it from by clicking the "Add interlanguage links" button - see here for how to to it: Help:Interlanguage links - Wikipedia
- When you publish your article in Chinese, please add zh:Template:Educational assignment to its talk page.
- When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, you should make it clear your work is a translation. Read more about this requirement here: WP:TFOLWP . Please add the following template to the article's talk page zh:Template:Translated page (if it is in Chinese) Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 13:08, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- Dear professor, hello. According to your suggestions, I have made comprehensive revisions to the second article. At present, the article has been improved and stored in my user page. However, due to permission restrictions, I cannot move it from the user page to the main namespace, and thus cannot add cross-language links. Therefore, I sincerely request your assistance in moving the page to the main space so that the entry can be officially published. Your help will play a vital role in further improving and optimizing the content of the article. Thank you again for your guidance and support! Here is the link to my revised article. Deadline 5 (week 9)-LIUJUNYU(유준오)
[edit]Dear professor, I am studying Everyday Life and Social Structure and Collective Intelligence in Practice.
The translation of two articles in the class Everyday Life, Ghostwriter and Sociology of race and ethnic relations, has been completed.
In the class Collective Intelligence in Practice, the two articles that the group worked on, Allied prisoners of war of Japan and Tan Zhenlin, have also been completed. Please check. LJY2455 (talk) 05:26, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
- @LJY2455 Very good.
- Your English article still has some unreferenced parts. (For example, the first and last paragraph of "Early Red Army Career" section have no references, while the reference to "谭震林为何被毛泽东当众称为"谭老板"?" sems broken and needs to be fixed to a working link). Remember that all paragraphs need to be referenced, otherwise they will not count for our project and may be deleted from Wikipedia (per our syllabus and Wikipedia:Verifiability). Double check all links to make sure they work, and if they do not work and cannot be rescued with the Internet Archive, find a better one
- You can publish your Chinese articles now. See Wikipedia:Moving a page for how to do this. If you are expanding an existing article, see WP:MERGE instead.
- After publishing your article, if it is a new creation, please add categories (see bottom of the original articles for categories and try to add a similar one to your article).
- You should also link the article to the original version you are translating it from by clicking the "Add interlanguage links" button - see here for how to to it: Help:Interlanguage links - Wikipedia

Project Three- Technology Assignment
[edit]Dear Professor ,
Regarding Project Three – Technology, I would like to kindly request to complete the assignment individually. Although it is a group project, the nature of the task involves experiencing a setting without any electronic devices. I believe that working independently would allow me to engage more authentically with the experience and provide a more accurate reflection of the intended objective.
I understand the importance of collaboration, but in this particular context, the presence of group members may inadvertently affect the authenticity of the technology-free experience. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate your approval to proceed individually. WUXIAOTONG Bancy (talk) 02:49, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Deadline 6 (Week10) - ZHUANG MINNA
[edit]Dear professor, these are the two articles I translated:The Southeast Daily and 朝鲜史学. If there are any changes that need to be made, please let me know. Thank you! Minazhuang777 (talk) 06:26, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Minazhuang777 Good progress. Things to fix in the English article:
- Make sure you link to relevant articles in your target Wikipedia, not to other languages, when a relevant article exists. When a topic exists in another language than the one you are writing and results in a red link in your target Wikipedia article, you can use this tool to add a link to the original Wikipedia. On English, use Template:Interlanguage link. On Chinese, use zh:Template:Interlanguage link multi . Right now you are not doing this correctly. I have fixed some for you: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Minazhuang777/sandbox&action=history Stop by my office for help if you need a demonstration on how to use it.
- Several of your links point to a disambiguation pages. To easily see which, go to your preferences and enable the "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange" gadget.
- Remember that all paragraphs need to be referenced, otherwise they will not count for our project and may be deleted from Wikipedia (per our syllabus and Wikipedia:Verifiability). For example, the sentence that begins with "In April 1928, the Zhejiang" needs a reference. There are other similar cases.
- Some captions are not translated (国民党中央黨部)
- The reference section is not finished. You use some short citations like 王文科;张扣林 2010, pp. 125–127. but the reference is not expanded. What is 王文科;张扣林?
- Add English title to 张梦新 2011, 第五章·第二节 解放战争时期杭州的新闻事业.
- For your zh article, please double check the links as well.

- You should also link the article to the original version you are translating it from by clicking the "Add interlanguage links" button - see here for how to to it: Help:Interlanguage links - Wikipedia
- When you publish your article in English, please add {{Educational assignment}} to its talk page. If your article is in Chinese, please add zh:Template:Educational assignment to its talk page.
- When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, you should make it clear your work is a translation. Read more about this requirement here: WP:TFOLWP . - The first two links above lead to the English articles, not to your work.
- Your contributions at zh wiki have been rejected due to low quality. Please review comments at https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E5%9F%8E%E5%B8%82%E7%BB%BF%E5%BF%83%E6%A3%AE%E6%9E%97%E5%85%AC%E5%9B%AD&action=history and https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E5%9F%8E%E5%B8%82%E7%BB%BF%E5%BF%83%E6%A3%AE%E6%9E%97%E5%85%AC%E5%9B%AD&action=history
- You need to understand your mistakes and learn how to create content at the level that will be acceptable the local reviewers.
- For changing the translation topic, talk to me after class. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:05, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Btw, @AlexLeeCN, I see copyvio concerns, but the student should be just translating content from en wiki to zh wiki. There should be no copyvio involved? They are also required to use zh:Template:Translated page although many don't do this until I remind them to do so in the final review which hasn't happened yet. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:07, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- The content Xukeying2022039098 added was clearly by-character copied from various sources and had 96% similarity reported by turnitin. Due to the revision has been deleted, the turnitin report may be refered. Regards.--Kasaki MiozreTalk 05:37, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- @AlexLeeCN Thank you. Upon further review, it seems the student misunderstood the assignment, as the article on 城市绿心森林公园 is supposed to be translated from zh wiki to en wiki. Expansion of the zh wiki article is not required. Now I understand the problem better. My class of course includes a module on Wikipedia:COPYVIO, but not everyone understands it.
- Could you or someone else (@Rastinition) explain the problem with https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E7%A4%BE%E4%BC%9A%E9%98%B6%E7%BA%A7&diff=87369444&oldid=87351954 ? The translated edit summary talks about low quality sources, but this is supposed to be a translation of a much longer and better referenced article from en wiki. It's possible a few sources there are inferior, but many are solid (academic books and papers), and I think the en wiki article is superior to the much shorter zh wiki article, so the translation is a step in the right direction. What's the problem? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:45, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Regarding the "Everyday Life and Social Structure" class (Class A, 10:30–12:00), the two articles I chose — Zheng Peimin and Touching China — are now mostly completed. If there are any issues or mistakes, I’ll continue to revise them. Thank you again for your confirmation and guidance! Lrxx123 (talk) 09:00, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Lrxx123 Please note much of the content in the latter article was removed as unsourced. If you want it to count for our class credit, you need to find sources for it before restoring it.
- You will get extra credit for work on Template:Touching the Heart of China (which @RCSCott91 has properly finished, thank you; I'll try to link it to zh wiki now). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:48, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reminder! I have re-added the relevant content with proper sourcing as suggested. Please feel free to let me know if any other issues or areas need improvement.@Hanyangprofessor2 Lrxx123 (talk) 04:36, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
Deadline 7 (Week 11-12) - Fatima Paulina Lopez Diaz
[edit]Dear Professor,
Here are my articles, United Nations and South Korea and United Nations and North Korea. I already requested the titles to be moved as you instructed me here. Please let me know if I did it correctly and if I should change anything in my articles.
Thank you! Fatimald (talk) 12:00, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Fatimald Very nice. For extra credit, you can try to have your work featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list by clicking the big blue button at WP:DYKNOM . Make sure to pay attention to comments by reviewers Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:51, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- PS. In the NK article, some paragraphs need references (in Sanctions). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:53, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Deadline 7 (Week 11-12)-BAI LINHAN
[edit]Professor, I changed the content according to your comments last time. I deleted the paragraph "Summarize" which was originally included. I checked the page numbers of Gu Zhegang's book and added a lot of reference information. The title format was unified and all the wrong references were deleted. I corrected some unreliable references, but there are still some references to school papers, because the content of the paper is consistent with what I want to write. If this is completely impossible, I will try to change the content, please check. thank u Bai0926 (talk) 13:17, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Bai0926 Good progress. There are some technical errors in references, talk to me during or after class and I'll show you how to fix them.
- Add a reference to the sentence "The origin of Chinese superstition can be traced back to ancient times and is closely related to primitive society's nature worship, belief in spirits and deities, and shamanistic culture."
- Add more blue links to important concepts like Four Pillars of Destiny.
- Ref 8 needs better metadata (author name, date, etc.). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:57, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Deadline 7 (Week 11-12)-Qu Hongyu 굴홍우

Deadline 5 (week 9) ——JIA YUAN
[edit]Dear Professor, Regarding the "Everyday Life and Social Structure" class (Class B, 13:00–14:30), Here are my additional bonus points:Jean Baptiste Beaubien、Adam Shaheen、American Flyers Airline、Paracrine regulatorPlease check, thank you. Jiayyyyy (talk) 01:48, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Jiayyyyy You need to finish formatting your articles, otherwhise they'll be rejected by the zh wiki articles.
- 让·巴蒂斯特·博比安, for example, has a badly formatted table instead of a proper infobox, and has next to no wikilinks and no categories. References are not properly translated, either (some are notes in English, and should be translated to Chinese).
- Please note that content declined for publication will not receive extra credit. It's better to do fewer entries, but ensure they are high quality, than many low quality ones which will be declined.
- If you need help, stop by my office. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 06:07, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Dear professor, I have revised it. Please recommend more articles that can be translated for me, thanks. Jiayyyyy (talk) 06:29, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
Deadline6: LIU ZIFU
[edit]Dear Professor,
I have completed the task of Deadline 6.
I did a feedback on MA CHENXIAO
BTW I have modified the deadline 5 according to your feedback, Modified cross-language links and added images but you may not have seen my message.
PLS check,Thank you. Peter011008 (talk) 02:22, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Peter011008 In that article, you need to use Chinese language categories, not English.
- The links have been modified in a way that I am not familiar with, but it seems ok. If the reviewers are not criticizing it, I am fine with that. Good job Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 06:10, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Deadline 6 (week 10) & Deadline 7 (weeks 11-12) - Lee Jae-hyun (이재현)
[edit]Hello, professor. I;m a student who takes course named 'Collective Intelligence in Practice: Understanding Wikipedia'. I've already reviewd an article by another student in his talk page. (Deadline 6)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User talk:Jo HyeonSeong
Here is an link, The last feedback is mine.
Also, I already finished my article. (Deadline 7)
Lastly, few days ago, my weekly obligatory wiki edits(1st week~8th week) were reverted by one of the English WIkipedia Manager, Because I broke the Wikipedia rules. In the 9th week, I asked the professor for a solution to this problem, and I got permission to replace it & to earn extra credits with editing a new article. I've already made 3 new articles, and if I have time, I'm going to make another one. I think I personally spent a lot of time editing these articles. I hope you can give me some feedback on these articles as well. And really lastly, I have a personal question about these articles next Monday. Thank you so much always, and I hope you have a great day today.
물이끼속JHyunlee (talk) 07:21, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

- @Hanyangdaxue The second one does not seem close to being finished (Truth and Method).
- The first one is progressing well but there are lot of code artifacts that need to be fixed (like 【10】).
- Please carefully proofread your work to make sure all code is fixed and that it reads well in Chinese. You can also ask an AI to review your work and tell you how to fix it so that it adheres to Chinese Wikipedia's Manual of Style. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:00, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

I have completed two of my articles.

- @Sooraon05 You are quite behind the schedule. First, I noticed that your work is on the wrong Wikipedia (in English Wikipedia sandbox). If you are translating to Korean, you need to move it to Korean Wikipedia, respectively. Please use your Wikipedia sandbox on the correct Wikipedia and update me when your work is moved and ready for review on the correct platform. Make sure it contains links and references. Controlling behavior in relationships
please check.
Kyeon0425 (talk) 16:56, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Kyeon0425 Good progress. Things to do:
- Check whether all blue links are identical. Make sure you link to relevant articles in your target Wikipedia, not to other languages, when a relevant article exists. When a topic exists in another language than the one you are writing and results in a red link in your target Wikipedia article, you can use this tool to add a link to the original Wikipedia. On Korean, use ko:틀:임시링크. Stop by my office for help if you need a demonstration on how to use it.
- When you publish your article in English, please add ko:틀:과제 문서 to its talk page.
- When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, you should make it clear your work is a translation. Read more about this requirement here: WP:TFOLWP . Please add the following template to the article's talk page - ko:틀:번역된_문서

- @ZHANG0822ZH Good. Next steps:
- Check whether all blue links are identical. Make sure you link to relevant articles in your target Wikipedia, not to other languages, when a relevant article exists. When a topic exists in another language than the one you are writing and results in a red link in your target Wikipedia article, you can use this tool to add a link to the original Wikipedia. On Chinese, use zh:Template:Interlanguage link multi . Stop by my office for help if you need a demonstration on how to use it.
- After that, you can publish it (move it the mainspace). See Wikipedia:Moving a page for how to do this.
- When you publish your article in Chinese, please add zh:Template:Educational assignment to its talk page.

- @白诗棋 It seems the problem is your poor command of Chinese, see zh:User_talk:白诗棋#2025年4月 and comments at https://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E4%B8%AD%E5%85%B1%E5%8D%81%E5%85%AB%E5%A4%A7%E5%90%8E%E7%9A%84%E5%8F%8D%E8%85%90%E8%B4%A5&action=history . [edit]Dear professor,
I am taking the class "Everyday Life and Social Structure". I have almost finished the translation and made some revisions according to the suggestions on the discussion page. Could you please take a look and see if there are any areas that need improvement. Here are links: Article1, Article2.
Thank you. Syouziiye (talk) 05:41, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Syouziiye very good. In article 2, remove the broken templates like Template:Economic anthropology . They look good otherwise.
- When your translation is finished, if you are creating a new article, you can publish it (move it the mainspace). See Wikipedia:Moving a page for how to do this. If you are expanding an existing article, see WP:MERGE instead.
- If moved, you should also link the article to the original version you are translating it from by clicking the "Add interlanguage links" button - see here for how to to it: Help:Interlanguage links - Wikipedia . Also, if it is a new creation, please add categories (see bottom of the original articles for categories and try to add a similar one to your article).
- When you publish your article in English, please add zh:Template:Educational assignment to its talk page.

Lin Chih-Sheng moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Lin Chih-Sheng, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Dear Professor, I have revised my wiki article, please checkUser:Mcx8202229/sandbox Mcx8202229 🇨🇳❤️ (talk) 12:19, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Mcx8202229 Good progress, but you have not finished addressing the issues I mentioned last time.
- Please ensure that the article has a proper WP:LEAD, which is a summary of information in the later sections. Right now your lead contains unique information, such as a legend, or information on its UNESCO recognition.
- The first two paragraphs under 'Historical Origin' need footnotes. Also, why historical origin? Is there a non-historical origin?
- The heading 'content' is unclear. Content of what? What is the content of this section?
- Content from 'content' seems to duplicate that of 'preparation'; both talk about three courses. Merge them.
- More blue links are needed: Lunar New Year, Wuyi Mountain, etc.
- In Social Impact, it's confusing to hear that the same list was announced twice? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:26, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

- Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:27, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Deadline 7 (Week 12)- GUAN YUE
[edit]Dear Professor,
I’m currently taking both Everyday Life and Social Structure and Collective Intelligence in Practice. I’ve now completed the two main Wikipedia translation assignments for the course:
Both were translated from Chinese to English.
In addition, I’ve worked on the following six articles for extra credit:
- Wu Shun Tak (zh → en)
- Maxim's MX (zh → en)
- Maxim’s Bakery (zh → en)
- Traditional Chinese sausages (zh → en)
- Stir-fried glutinous rice (zh → en)
- Judy Wajcman (en → zh)
For the Ukraine Cultural Month activity, I also translated two articles from English to Chinese:
Regarding your earlier comment about the page move for Maxim's Cakes — I followed the procedure outlined at Wikipedia:Requested moves and submitted the request accordingly. An administrator has since moved it to the appropriate Talk page section, and it is now officially listed for discussion and under review. I’m currently waiting for feedback or a decision.
