Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Grampaging, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 🇵🇸‍🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦‍🇵🇸 17:13, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. John is very popular in Malayalam film industry 2001:8F8:1735:5A6A:E80B:FC80:32AA:DE2C (talk) 15:30, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am afraid I have rejected the draft- you have not demonstrated he passes WP:NCREATIVE or WP:NPERSON through your sources. If the draft substantially changes I will take another look, but in it's current form it is not acceptable. qcne (talk) 15:31, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
All the details, resources and links i submitted are very authentic and you can just see his relevance by just search his name ‘Aji John’ in Google. Wikipedia has also listed all of his works 2001:8F8:1735:5A6A:E80B:FC80:32AA:DE2C (talk) 15:32, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Grampaging You did not prove that he meets our criteria, sorry. qcne (talk) 15:33, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
please advise how can i prove Grampaging (talk) 15:35, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Have a read of WP:NCREATIVE and WP:NPERSON and then gather a minimum of three reliable sources that each meet our criteria set out in WP:42. qcne (talk) 15:36, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
He directed 3 malayalam feature films and they are listed in Wikipedia; cant you consider this as reliable? Grampaging (talk) 15:39, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, that is not a criteria for inclusion. Please read WP:NPERSON. qcne (talk) 15:40, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
is this help if i added his name like- Aji John Filmmaker- Grampaging (talk) 15:44, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't help, you are just wasting my time now. qcne (talk) 15:45, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Grampaging. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Grampaging. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Grampaging|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 🇵🇸‍🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦‍🇵🇸 17:12, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

who said its paid, never. He is an Artist, and he is not into any paid profile creation. As an entertainment journalist and media person I must be a well-wisher of his works so i tried to create this article on behalf of his credentials. Sorry for the misunderstandings Grampaging (talk) 17:17, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Grampaging You said here you were his PR Manager? Public Relations Managers are generally employed and paid by the people they are promoting. qcne (talk) 17:19, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I honestly said my work area, but I have done anything as a paid service for him, I know Mr. John since he started his career as a film editor. if he is interested to paid service he would have been done this earlier. Mr. John is very talented artist, and he deserve a Wikipedia profile. So, I personally insisted him to do this Grampaging (talk) 17:24, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    • correction- I haven't done anything as a paid service for him,
Grampaging (talk) 17:25, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please make pass this if there are any possibilities, he deserves it Grampaging (talk) 17:26, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your simple declaration is all we need. Thank you. You do have a WP:COI, though. 🇵🇸‍🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦‍🇵🇸 17:45, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Grampaging, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Grampaging|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. You have said “I am his PR manager" this means you are a paid editor and need to make the diclosure on your user page. thanks for all of your attention, can i proceed with the article now? Grampaging (talk) 17:59, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your user page does not exist (as indicated by the redlink), so no, you have not followed the instructions. Please follow the instructions above. Rambley (talk) 18:02, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Even if you do make the disclosure, @Grampaging, my rejection of the draft is still active so it seems rather pointless to try again? qcne (talk) 18:04, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
thanks, so giving up is the only one option? Grampaging (talk) 18:06, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you edit the draft with entirely different sources. qcne (talk) 18:15, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
