Hello, I’m the artist F.man. I was working on a Wikipedia draft with good intentions, but I now understand that it may have appeared promotional or under-sourced. I sincerely apologize for any mistakes. I want to clarify that I have many print articles from reputable publications that support my notability, and I intend to add them in scanned form. I simply did not have the time to upload them yesterday. I am fully willing to revise the article, cite proper independent sources, and follow all Wikipedia content guidelines. Thank you for reviewing my case. I now understand that my use of Wikipedia may have come across as promotional, which was not my intention. I am attempting to document the career of F.man — a public artist with a verifiable international career — using press coverage, critical reviews, and historical articles. Some of these articles are in print (pre-internet) and I am actively scanning them so they can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and cited properly. I fully understand now that autobiographical editing is discouraged, and I’m happy to step back and ask a third party to continue the draft, or to focus on unrelated edits if unblocked. I am sincerely asking for help from experienced editors so the article can meet Wikipedia's notability and sourcing standards. Please can you help? Thank you for your consideration. Please place new posts at the bottom, so they stay in order. This may be easier to do if you click "edit" and not "reply" to edit this page. The reply function is imperfect and doesn't work well in all situations(it doesn't always work with posts at the bottom, nor does it accomodate unblock requests well, adding formatting which screws them up). Someone else will review your request. I would note that Commons does not host source material(that would be WikiSource, I think) nor do you need to upload copies of sources- you just need to cite them as WP:REFB provides. I'm also now unclear as to if you are F.man or not- in your first request you say you are, but in your second you refer to him as a third person. 331dot (talk) 16:12, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

331dot, I think it's still fairly obvious that the user is F.man. He may refer to himself ambiguously, but I think that's just a manner of speaking: note his reference to "autobiographical" later in the unblock request. Also, note that he hasn't responded to your question about what else he would edit if he couldn't edit about himself. It's even worse: now he's asking us to help him create an article about himself. His only purpose being here is to publish an article about himself. He should not be unblocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:21, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say, given the comments above I was expecting to find something a lot more damning than a single draft, with all edits taking place over a two-hour span on a single day. I wouldn't even have rejected this article at AfC, let alone blocked the editor; I'd simply have declined it and warned her not to create autobiographies. @EnergyLightArt, I'll happily unblock you if you intend to edit on topics other than yourself, but please don't recreate this autobiography, and please don't ask other editors, who are all volunteers, to write it for you.
