[edit]
- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to User:Bricooks/sandbox and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- Thank you for your response! I will remove this one and continue to improve the reference materials for the other one before resubmitting. Bricooks (talk) 15:02, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Robert, I discovered another article I submitted had the same title as this one, which was inaccurate (Milwaukee Comedy, LLC). I moved that draft and retitled, but because it still linked to the former, I am unable to move the correct article for Milwaukee Comedy Festival to a draft and out of my sandbox. I would also like to resubmit as the correct article was not actually reviewed and I feel good about the quality and quantity of references. I am not quite sure how to proceed, any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance! Bricooks (talk) 15:24, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

- Thanks for replying! How do I change the title of this? This is meant to be titled, Milwaukee Comedy, LLC. I had another article I was working on and somehow the title was duped. I need to continue working on the other one with the correct title and will need to submit at some point in the near future and don't want it to be rejected as they now have the same title. Thanks in advance for your response! Bricooks (talk) 15:12, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
moved/renamed a draft and now can't submit a different draft
[edit]Hi, I accidentally named a draft article the same name as an article in my sandbox. I renamed/moved the draft but now I am unable to resubmit my sandbox article as it is linked by that same name in the other article's history. What my desired outcome is, would be to have one article titled, Milwaukee Comedy, LLC. and one article titled, Milwaukee Comedy Festival. @IndigoCanary66 Bricooks (talk) 20:19, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- I finally had a chance to come back and look at the situation.
- Yes, you made some mistakes and these drafts both need a lot of improvement. But there is no problem requiring action: you can submit the sandbox, without needing to move it to Draft:Milwaukee Comedy Festival, any time you want to. It would be up to the accepting reviewer to decide on the final location of the article and the draft namespace could be skipped entirely or someone could change the redirect to point to the accepted article. Yes, draft namespace is preferred, but it has always been possible to submit userspace drafts and sandboxes for AfC review.
- But, to try to make this easier, I'll file a housekeeping request to remove the redirect. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:23, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- Following up, the redirect was deleted and the draft moved as primefac assumed you desired. I commented out the no-longer-applicable stuff at the top, so it will look like a clean start when you finally submit it. I recommend that you not submit until you've fixed the various problems of external links, promotionalism, and missing sources. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 09:26, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- thank you so much, I appreciate the work and the advice! Bricooks (talk) 15:00, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello Bricooks. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Bricooks. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Bricooks|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Gheus (talk) 02:09, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm not receiving any compensation for this. I live in Milwaukee and enjoy comedy, I go to clubs here and then in LA with friends as well. I have a lot of friends who are comedians. I just think the scene in Milwaukee is cool. I don't want to get banned from wiki or anything. I've not done pages before this so if there is something I need to do or not, let me know.
