June Backlog Drive is almost over!
[edit]
Hi! Thanks for participating in the Articles for Creation June Backlog Drive! We've done amazing work so far, dropping the backlog by more than 2000 drafts already. We have around 200 drafts outstanding, and we need your help to get that down to zero in 5 days. We can do this, but we need all hands on deck to make this happen. A list of the pending drafts can be found at WP:AFCSORT, where you can select submissions in your area of interest. Thank you so much for your work so far, and happy reviewing! – DreamRimmer ■ 01:27, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
question
[edit]hi i'm new to wikipedia. we added this page to support the accuracy of another page because this person is cited, and there's inaccuracies related to his biography and association with the company he founded and his inventions.
i appreciate you gave me some feedback on excessive prose related to a specific subject on a page i submitted. the source for the prose is actually already cited - it's in Korean though. however, to accomodate this i have removed that part entirely. it now says no additional citation added. is this relevant to the original feedback you gave?
moreover, this prose is not excessive, the subject's actual position is a formal position in the clan association's committee. comparable bios in more familiar countries and cultures are more excessive and i wonder if the reviewer's own cultural perceptions are forming their judgment Siboxsg (talk) 08:03, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. In that case, re-introduce the mention of the clan. We're fine with sources not in English being cited, so please just add inline citations to the claims. The "No additional citation added" was because I saw no new sources being added, even though I pointed out that there was a lack of sources backing up claims. We're pretty strict for biographies of living person. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 09:36, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- ah i see and yes, i totally understood your concerns in the beginning. I think it that case its proper to remove the other members while adding back the fact that he is the current head of the clan association -- it's actually a job kind of like being the head of the Romanov family association etc. I'm sure once launched more familiar people will actually be able to expand on his bio and cite more information as there are a lot Siboxsg (talk) 09:42, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- [1] just FYI this is the clan association website, and its written in a way where the family history and land holdings are detailed. he has an official position as the clan's branch head. The clan also is well cited across the internet and in wikipedia. Siboxsg (talk) 09:46, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- Be careful when citing WP:PRIMARY sources in claims like this.

- yes, it's not a primary source. there's 600,000+ members in Korea, so its still based on independent research and third parties. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siboxsg (talk • contribs) 10:05, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

Query
[edit]Hello, AlphaBetaGamma,
You posted a note at AlAhlyAC's user talk page where you stated that you moved an article they created to Draft space but you neglected to identify the article. Could you return and state what the article is that you draftified? It also might help if this comment had its own header. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:00, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello AlphaBetaGamma. This is a reminder that your Articles for Creation review on What Is, and to What End do We Study, Universal History? is still marked as ongoing for over forty-eight hours. After seventy-two hours, What Is, and to What End do We Study, Universal History? will be returned to the review queue so that other reviewers may review the draft.
If you wish to continue reviewing the draft but need more time before the bot returns it to the review queue, you can place {{bots|deny=TenshiBot}}
on the draft so you can continue your review. Also, if you do not want to receive these notifications, you can place the same template on your talk page. TenshiBot (talk) 09:39, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from CHICKEN NUGGITS on Ranboo (22:34, 29 June 2025)
[edit]I'm trying to change the site for this to show the tweet of them actually coming out it was yesterday so and I cant --CHICKEN NUGGITS (talk) 22:34, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- If that tweet is from Ranboo himself, and the tweet is already posted, I think you can just cite them per WP:ABOUTSELF. If you don't provide a new source along with your edits, your edits will certainly be reverted due to WP:BLP concerns. (We are really strict on that) AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 02:59, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Continuing the discussion from AIV…
[edit]I have basically zero technical knowledge, but sounds like a good idea. Perhaps limit to only non-semi confirmed, and, as you mentioned, would obviously have to exclude things like project pages (I can’t think of instance where this would apply though), GA reviews come to mind, etc. GoldRomean (talk) 04:19, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'm sure non-semi confirmed users/IPs usually never review GANs, although that's my assumption. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 04:21, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- I know IPs have nominated GAs, so probably somewhere there’s been a GA review by an IP.
- Wait, hold-up - isn’t this just WP:G8? And there isn’t anything stopping said vandals from just making main space pages, right? Idk :). GoldRomean (talk) 04:26, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah well, actually, I guess we can just WP:DENY them until an admin arrives with a Nuke. My fault for forgetting that. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 04:28, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- Well now, if admins wield nukes, what do we lowly rollbackers have? GoldRomean (talk) 04:34, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- Revert a bunch of other vandalism that have been done prior to the mass-creation spree? That guy hijacked a bunch of album release edits to farm edit counts. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 04:52, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- (BTW that was a joke lol), but yes, all (well, most) our editors are so great at working with each other, honestly it’s really cool. GoldRomean (talk) 04:55, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- I mean, Wikipedia won't last a day without editors collaborating, so the website functioning means we're (well, most of us at least) here to build an encyclopedia. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 04:57, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- Agreed! GoldRomean (talk) 04:58, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

I have to be honest that I was overwhelmed when I saw the AfC backlog just now! Your work at articles for creation is incredible. Thank you so much for being part of the June Backlog Drive eliminators. I miss reviewing drafts, and I hope I am able to get back more actively again. Question from Youssefthecreator (15:05, 1 July 2025)
[edit]Are we allowed to have like exclamation marks '!' And other things like that to show excitement? --Youssefthecreator (talk) 15:05, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- In articles, not really. It's not like they are completely banned from articles, but using exclamation marks can mess with the article's tone. On talk pages, comments ending in multiple of them can be seen as WP:SHOUTING and you'll find people complaining about that. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 22:10, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- Oh okay, thank you! Youssefthecreator (talk) 05:15, 2 July 2025 (UTC)
