You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. Stop. You were already informed that you cannot copy text from other websites. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing to prevent further disruption. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 22:56, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- No, I wasn't informed I couldn't copy from other websites, I had to make available the info provided on the website on the wiki page I didn't know, i wasn't literally allowed to copy paste, otherwise I would have wrote it in a different way, if I had known. - the previous copyright strike was about the picture. it had nothing to do with the text. so please give me another chance on this platform, I'll make sure to go through everything before sending for review next time. Benjamin Chongloi (talk) 01:44, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:
Please, I wasn't aware that we are prohibited from copy pasting from other sites, I thought as long as the page owner gave permission to copy paste we were allowed to do so, but it doesn't seem to be the case, if I had known I would have wrote in in another way without copy pasting. and also this is the first time I am getting warning for copy pasting the texts the previous one was for the photo(which the owner did give permission). Since I am really unaware and new to the platform please do give me another chance, I'll make sure to go through everything before sending the next one for review. please do give another chance Benjamin Chongloi (talk) 01:51, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

What is your relationship with Mr. Lhungdim? 331dot (talk) 08:32, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Please also show where the owner of the website specifically permitted pasting content from their site. You also falsely claim the initial problem was only the image. This is factually accurate. --Yamla (talk) 11:52, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Yamla:
This is factually accurate.
Didn't you mean "inaccurate"? Also, the user was aware of the copyright issue before he created the draft. I deleted the sandbox per G12 and warned him after doing so.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:39, 23 February 2025 (UTC)- Yeap, inaccurate. Sorry. You'd think it would be hard to type the exact opposite of what you mean, but I manage to do so frequently. --Yamla (talk) 17:12, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Tbh, I wasnt aware of the copyright issue, i thought it was only on the photo, that's why I didn't include the photo in the new article that i submitted. And as for proof of me having the copyright to the article, I was asked by our community rabbi(who is also the owner of the website shivtei menashe), to publish the article on Wikipedia since Mr.Lhungdim played an important part in our history as the tribe of Bnei Menashe.but yes i accept all this is as a result of me being not aware of the rules and regulations of wikipedia, so please give me another chance i'll be extra careful next time. - @Yamla:
- The rule is that you cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia - even if you are the copyright holder, or have the copyright holder's permission - unless the material has been explicitly released for use by the verified copyright owner into the public domain or under a license compatible with Wikipedia. These licenses allow anyone — not just Wikipedia — to share, distribute, transmit, and adapt the work, free of charge and in perpetuity, provided that the original author is attributed. Also, because some derivative works may be commercial, we cannot accept materials that are licensed only for educational use or even for general non-commercial use. Releasing the material is both permanent and irrevocable. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:17, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Okay thank you for clearifying, I wasn't aware of that, I had published two article from sand box one had a copyright warning on the photo, so i thought it is because of the photo i got the copyright warning so, I deleted the photo and published the 2nd article without any photo. that's where i got my account blocked. Now that I know the rules a bit, I'll look into more of the rules before publishing the next article if I do get unblocked, and make sure it won't happen again. So please someone do unblock me. Benjamin Chongloi (talk) 14:42, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Your unblock request is in the queue of unblock requests, and will be reviewed whenever an administrator has time. Like all other Wikipedia users, administrators are volunteers, so no one can guarantee how quickly it will be evaluated. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:00, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- ok thank you for the information. that was helpful. hopefully I'll get unblocked soon. Benjamin Chongloi (talk) 15:06, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
