Thank you. It seems like I will need to wait until the Percilla Bejano page is approved and no longer in Draft form before a redirect can be created, right? ApronSocial (talk) 03:34, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. This is a message to let you know that your username, "ApronSocial", may not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Please note that the following types of usernames are prohibited:

  • Promotional usernames: Those that match the name of a company, organization, group, website or product (e.g. "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", "Foobar Museum of Art"). However, you are allowed to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally (e.g. "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "FoobarFan87").
  • Usernames implying shared use: Those that directly imply shared access between people (e.g. "Jack and Jill's Account"), or match names of posts within groups or organizations (e.g. "Secretary of the XY Foundation").
  • Misleading usernames: Those that contain suffixes like "bot" or "script" and imply an account is that of an automated bot when it is not, or titles like "admin" or "sysop" (implying a position of authority), or match names of living people that you are not, such as famous living people. If you are a famous person editing under your real name and your account is blocked from editing, please note that this is not to discourage you from editing, but rather to prevent any potentially damaging impersonation of you.
  • Offensive and disruptive usernames: Those that contain words or phrases that are likely to offend other contributors, directly threaten or attack another person or some entity, contain contentious material about living persons, or otherwise imply you do not intend to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia (e.g. "JohnIsAJerk", "WannabeWikipediaVandal").

For more information, see Wikipedia's username policy.

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, website, person or other entity, nor do we tolerate any other 'bad faith' editing such as trolling, vandalism or other disruptive behavior, regardless of your username. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. If you do not understand which part of the policy your username may be violating, please don't hesitate to ask. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 20:41, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @ApronSocial, I see that you added clarification here on your userpage that this account is ran by one person, but this does not satisfy the username policy. The WP:ORGNAME section says that "Usernames that unambiguously represent the name of a company, organization, website, product"(emphasis mine) are not permitted, but a username like "Mars at ApronSocial" would be as stated at WP:ISU. You can request a change of username at Special:GlobalRenameRequest. Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 21:44, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And I apologize for not mentioning this before, but as it sounds like you are a part of, and are compensated by, Amusement Professionals Network, you need to comply with the terms of use for paid editing as stated at WP:PAID. WP:BOSS is also a good, but non-exhaustive, explainer essay on the topic. Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 21:49, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, sorry for incorrectly tagging your username in the previous reply, @fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four, but to clarify I am not paid by them / paid to make edits. It’s a free network, and I am volunteering my time to contribute to Wikipedia. And hopefully my global username change request is approved soon. ApronSocial (talk) 21:54, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No problem there, and thank you for helping to build an encyclopedia!
As a tip you can read WP:PING to see how to send users a notification, writing @ApronSocial alone won't work, but @ApronSocial, as a user link, will. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 21:59, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four, I have submitted a Global Username change request (to ApronMars) and am still waiting for approval. ApronSocial (talk) 21:51, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
