Is it possible to move this template to Template:WikiProject Philippines while still linking to the project page at Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines? As a WikiProject, the name should be similar to other country WikiProjects, hence the banner should be titled "WikiProject Philippines". However, we want to retain the collaboration page title as "Tambayan Philippines" to emphasize that this is not just a WikiProject but also a regional notice-board and a general Village Pump–like page for editors in the Philippines.

Based on the WPBannerMeta meta-template, this request should be possible by supplying the following parameters after moving the template to Template:WikiProject Philippines:

PROJECT = Philippines
PROJECT_LINK = Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines

A couple of suggestions

The ambiguous NA-Class currently includes draft articles and redirect pages combined. For better categorization, perhaps it would be best to add classes Redirect-Class and Draft-Class, like what WP:CA does, then later on delete the ambiguous NA-Class option once all pages categorized under it are recategorized under the two new Classes.

Also, please add a B-Class Criteria checklist option, like what {{WPMILHIST}} does, to allow greater scrutiny in article assessment.

NA=class means Non-Article, and neither redirects nor drafts are articles. MILHIST is a funny one, their project banner is very non-standard and it is not a good idea to base any other WikiProject banner upon that one.

Regardless of that, I am very familiar with the construction of WikiProject banners, and can make the appropriate amendments; but before doing so, I require the consensus of the WikiProject itself, I cannot do it on the request of one member. A link to a concluded discussion at WT:WikiProject Tambayan Philippines will be sufficient.

Please also bear in mind that the addition of a B-Class checklist will immediately downgrade all current B-Class articles to C-Class until each one is reassessed individually. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:45, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Sanglahi86: Sorry for the delay! I was reminded by this post elsewhere. I've added the B-Class checklist to Template:WikiProject Tambayan Philippines/sandbox, please check that it does what you want - all pages in Category:B-Class Philippine-related articles will move to Category:C-Class Philippine-related articles until their individual checklists are filled in.

As for the first part of the request, this was carried out in November 2022, see #Template-protected edit request on 25 November 2022 below, but please note that Category:NA-Class Philippine-related articles isn't empty, most probably because pages are explicitly setting |class=NA, something that should never be necessary. Hi, @Relayed! You're setting the main category here to be Philippine music task force articles, but this already conflicts with the assessment category. Under the article categorization guidelines, they should only remain in the lowest applicable category in that tree. Also, all categories that will be used for the parameter have been prepared beforehand, so changing the category name could be quite a hassle. @TheNuggeteer: In future, please don't make template edit requests using code blobs in the talk page. As you found, they can be difficult to format in a manner that is unambiguous and also readable in the page source and also in the rendered page. It's also difficult to test. It is far better to use the template's sandbox (in this case Template:WikiProject Tambayan Philippines/sandbox), which will allow you to specify the required changes precisely and unambiguously, and may also be tested directly. Indeed, the {{edit template-protected}} template, when |answered=yes isn't specified, provides a number of links concerning the sandbox, see this page a few hours ago (see in particular the row of links on the second line and also the sentence beginning "Consider making changes first ..."). Category redirects

This templates is populating category redirects such as Category:Tambayan Philippines articles needing infoboxes. The problem is the mismatch between the project name and category name and the chaos when entries try to do multiple things. I previously fixed the name as this is the only way to sort out the problem (renaming discussions have produced opposing outcomes); however this was reverted. It was reverted because it put every page using this template (20,000+) in the Category:WikiProject templates with unknown parameters maintenance category, in effect that any parameter at all was unsupported.

There is a much better way to address the category redirect - the WikiProject banner module has explicit support for providing an custom INFOBOX_CAT parameter to provide a custom category name for articles tagged with needing an infobox. In the template's sandbox I have added this parameter (diff) for you and others to try it out and make sure there's no objections, before it gets changed in the main template.
