Meme
[edit]Probably not worth adding to the article but of potential note for editors: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sacabambaspis A badly made recreation of one of these species got famous on the Japanese internet, leading to a lot of attention and fanart. It hasn't gone un-noticed in english circles either. It'd be a good time to tune up the page, maybe with a more representative depiction than the one that's sending people here. Also, it's on the chans, there will likely be "pranks" Desktopview (talk) 11:59, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Without this excitement I would never have heard of this being, nor looked it up.
- I think it rather unfair for the Finnish model to be so abused, since few know what the fish really looked like 470 million years ago. Claverhouse (talk) 04:16, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be good to include some sort of image of the bad depiction, since it has played a big part in making this genus notable? It has become an ambassador of sorts, despite its inaccuracy. The image could note that it's not what the fish was thought to look like Killamator (talk) 17:24, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- Is the model still on public display? A quick search on Commons hasn't yielded any images of it, but if it's still displayed a Finnish editor could snap a quick picture of it to use on the page. Meme or not it is probably worth including as a historic interpretation of the taxon. Gasmasque (talk) 17:33, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
What is the source on the "life restoration" images?
[edit]From looking at the sources listed I haven't been able to find the image? Someonewhofixestyposguh (talk) 01:07, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
