Remove all the references to the 2010-2011 Serie A trophy from the page. In particular:

  • remove the relevant sentence from the third paragraph of the introduction
  • remove the relevant sentence from the 2010-2011 season paragraph
  • remove the trophy from the Honours section

The source (in italian) that is currently used to support his inclusion is misleading. It is essentially a page on the A.C. Milan website (archived) where all the players who took part in the campaign are mentioned and thanked out of respect. However, the Serie A rules do not allow players who leave a club to win "future trophies", even in the same season. 2A00:23C5:3408:4101:6D53:BBAC:E13A:2210 (talk) 23:01, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Remove "where he won the 2010–11 Serie A." from the third paragraph of the introduction.
  • Remove "Despite leaving the club at half-season, he was still eligible for a 2010–11 Serie A winner's medal as Milan won the competition." from "2010-11 season".
  • Remove "Serie A: 2010-11" from "Honours"

The main reason is that the source that is currently used does not say that Ronaldinho won the 2010-11 Serie A. It merely cites all the players that at some point in the 2010-2011 season played for A.C. Milan. Therefore, the above sentences need to be removed because of the lack of a reliable source. In particular, no reliable source can exist at all, because players who leave a club in the winter transfer window do not win any "future" trophy, even in the same season. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a00:23c5:3408:4101:6d53:bbac:e13a:2210 (talkcontribs) 21:46, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I'm not confident enough with football rules to say whether or not he was qualified for the medal, but this source from the honors page declares that he won the medal despite leaving. I can't say if that is accurate, however as the page has since been removed from Squawka.com, possibly as a retraction.  A S U K I T E  13:31, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"no reliable source can exist at all, because players who leave a club in the winter transfer window do not win any "future" trophy, even in the same season."
Rubbish, Cancelo left Man city in January to Bayern, Man city even beat bayern to win the UCL and cancelo still received a league title medal.

Ronaldinho has not won the 2010-11 Serie A

[edit]

The page still includes multiple incorrect lines stating that Ronaldinho won the 2010-2011 Serie A. He could not have won such competition because he was sold to Flamengo in January 2011. Being sold to another football club implies that the old contract is terminated (in Ronaldinho's case with the mutual consent of both parties - him and A.C. Milan).

As such, Ronaldinho was not anymore an A.C. Milan player when they won the 2010-11 Serie A. The fact that A.C. Milan were kind enough to send him a medal for his contributions during the first half of the season, and to include him in the squad list on their website is irrelevant.

Imagine he was sold to another club in Serie A (i.e., to a direct competitor), rather than to Flamengo. We would definitely not say that he won the 2010-11 Serie A in that case. Then why is the case different with him having been sold to Flamengo?

Among other things, the sentence "Despite leaving the club at half-season, he was still eligible for a 2010–11 Serie A winner's medal as Milan won the competition" is false, and its only reference is A.C. Milan's website, which includes him in the squad list. However, they could have included anybody in the list, including Mickey Mouse. What I mean, is that it's not a reliable source, and even if it was, it would be wrong in this particular case.

May I ask, therefore, why the burden of the proof seems inverted in this case? I reckon all the references to winning the 2010-11 Serie A should be removed.

I am open to being wrong. If that is the case, I would like to receive a proper explanation (not the "establish consensus first" ad hominem - which is a known fallacy, by the way). 2A00:23C5:3408:4101:6D53:BBAC:E13A:2210 (talk) 22:55, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be a silly son of a whiore, just because he was sold doesn't mean he didn't win serie A or didn't receive a medal, he made 11 appearances and contributed to their eventual success, he played enough matches to be awarded a title therefore he won serie A in 2011, so he should be added to his resume. Ronaldinho should have in his wiki "widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time" As it was there before

[edit]

Ronaldinho is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time so I am not sure why this was taken out of his bio and replaced with "one of the most talented players ever" clearly this was edited by a hater. If this title can be included for players such as Baggio and Romario who in their regard are also all time greats certainly it should also be the case for ronaldinho as he is not only more talented than both but also won more individually and club-wise.

I will upload a link to an image that showed what was written on his wiki before it was edited
