Number one by Stacker
[edit]A Stacker poll ranked this the number one science fiction show by fans. Where should that be added to the article?

- @Vajzë Blu: It looks like Stacker just used IMDb data, so that's not a reliable poll. ––FormalDude (talk) 14:33, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- But it's reported by MSN. Isn't that a reliable source? Vajzë Blu (talk) 17:56, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Vajzë Blu: The link you gave isn't working, but MSN is a news aggregator, meaning they normally pull their articles from other news organizations. I'm fairly certain they pulled it from this Stacker article, which cites the poll data to IMDb, and IMDb is not reliable. ––FormalDude (talk) 00:17, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- If the link isn't working I guess it doesn't matter. :) Vajzë Blu (talk) 20:52, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Rick and Morty show locate (followup to original discussion)
[edit]Ok so I found a link to Justin Roiland's official X (Formerly Twitter account) which states the show's locale is outside of Seattle Washington not the Midwest (click here.) and per Wikipedia, Reliable sources, "A specific tweet can be used as a primary source if it meets the conditions at WP:SPS or WP:TWITTER. For example, a tweet from a verified account, which identifies notable figures and Twitter Blue subscribers, may be considered reliable." Justin Roiland's X account does meet WP:SPS and/or WP:Twitter because his X page is a verified account so unless there is any objections otherwise I am going to remove the reference that the show is based in the Midwest and replace it with outside of Seattle Washington. Recent edits I reverted
[edit]I just reverted some edits by User:Onemillionthtree and was asked to justify so here it is. I could not justify those in the summary since each is inappropriate for their own reason.
- First you added a link to Different dimensions of reality, which not only is a redirect (why not link to the redirect's target?) but it's pointing to a disambig page, which is discouraged by MOS:DABLINK.
- Then you linked the definition of hijinks to its Wiktionary definition. A pretty random interwiki link to a pretty trivial word.
Then you add a See Also section in which you list:
- Rick_and_Morty#Philosophy, a section link within the same article (?), horribly masked behind the title "Philosophy: unanswerable questions", which is the very definition of WP:EGG.
- A link to The_unanswerable_questions, quite a tangential thing to link from an article about a cartoon show.
- A pretty bare link to Infinity_(philosophy)#Augustine, a link leading to an article section containing only has one sentence saying that some philosopher thought infinity was incomprehensible for humans.
I know there was no ill intent in your additions, but hope you understand the reasoning why they're not ideal. uKER (talk) 13:39, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Tagging @Onemillionthtree so they can see these edit reasons. Harryhenry1 (talk) 15:37, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- I provided my response to the complaints - should really solve the current conflict - the outcome was I retained "hijinks" as doesn't have an obvs. relevancy if no known semantic: at :wikt: 1 does associate with 2 meaningfully as art. ""Rick is an eccentric and alcoholic" (i.e. 1) "mad scientist" [indic. in para. 2 of link] - ref. Zachary Kandell Screen Rant. I didn't know this meaning so it would be helpful for others - the meaning of "h" is uncertain/vague - "a type of fun" perhaps could be the presumption - so 1-2 would be lost without the link.
