Why was he Archbishop of Lyon for only about 5 years?

[edit]

He was appointed Archbishop of Lyon in 1290, and apparently ceased to be archbishop in 1295, but no explanation is given for why he left the post. 50.48.192.184 (talk) 16:04, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for his relics being in Valencia

[edit]

It is stated in the article that Franciscan friars chose to move his relics to Valencia in the early 15th century. It is well known and indicated other places on French Wikipedia that his remains were plundered and taken as prize by the Aragonese during their sacking of Marseille, the important Anjou-Provence sea port where the saint’s bones had been put to rest by his brother. 2A02:842A:72E0:2101:4E0:1DBD:1F31:A421 (talk) 12:31, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Added. Oddly, Toynbee makes no mention of Alfonso V's sack of Marseille or removal of Louis' relics. --Kansas Bear (talk) 16:20, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
