- Probably because of nationalist revisionism. Much needs to be done to unbias this and give a correct picture of times past. Or relevant aspects of the present for that matter. Goes by no means only for Finland. --Keinstein (talk) 20:22, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Kurki of Laukko → Kurck – Per WP:CONCISE and WP:COMMONNAME. The name does originate from Finnish kurki, 'crane', but most of the family members were known by the Swedicized spelling Kurck. The specifier "of Laukko" is unnecessary. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 11:17, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
