Merge with Science policy of the second Donald Trump administration?

[edit]

Science policy of the second Donald Trump administration seems like the right place for all this. Make sense? --John_Abbe (talk) 17:59, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think everything here would also fit there. Pinging François Robere, the page creator, to see if they think otherwise. PrinceTortoise (he/himpoke) 00:38, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping. This article was meant to be a bit broader than the other one, and include not only events that are related to science policy but anything that has to do with information and knowledge, as that seems to be a common theme across many of this administration's policies. This means, for example, that events like the appointment of the Sec. of Education or the shutdown of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which would not have had a place in the other article, do have a place here. That said, I'm not zealous about any particular partitioning of the subject, so if you want to do a "science policy of..." and "education policy of..." instead, go ahead. Support merge. Better context exists elsewhere (in more than one article), and there is already an exorbitant plethora of Trump-adjacent articles. This article is scant, basically a grab bag of news articles. An article should be more refined and enduring, not knee-jerk and we should generally restrain the urge to create a new article every time Trump farts, speaks, or does a thing that the news reports on. We're not a daily newspaper. --Animalparty! (talk) 01:59, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
