It's probably better to not include it in the article until your request is approved. WP:RSPS is not "arcane", it is pretty easy to find and very useful. Wikipedia's rules are usually listed in welcome messages and don't require much effort to read. I am not well-versed in all the rules, which can be seen by this. Please assume good faith. Disagreed. I say the source is good. You have to prove that it is bad, i.e., to prove that the information provided by the author is wrong. Blacklisted is the publisher, but the authors are to be decided case-by-case basis. --Altenmann >talk 08:56, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The full text of Babington's 1822 translation and commentary is available on archive.org. The work is in public domain and so perhaps this link can replace the ones to [1], [2], and [3], all of which are inaccessible links for me.

Also, the article lede should be updated to reflect that The Adventures of Guru Paramartha is not a story but a series of stories with Guru Paramartha being the common character. Relatedly, the current article seems to give undue importance to the first of the eight stories although, to be fair, I have not yet searched for what secondary sources may be available on the rest of the stories and the collection/character as a whole. Agreed with all points. The lede fixed for now, although it looks like a continuous narration for me, split in chapter. Must look at what sources say. I've listed some scholarly sources that may be of interest below. Have only glanced through them so far but noticed that A. K. Ramanujan, a stalwart of the field, calls it a "hilarious cycle" of stories about "Guru Paramartha (Paramananda in Telugu) and his disciples." And about the first story, which he titles, "Crossing a river, losing a self" he says "this story, which I heard in childhood,was obviously known to Sankara in the seventh century as well, and he uses it as a parable for ignorance of self."
