Violation of 'Consensus Required' on the article on Rajput

[edit]

Hello Abecedare.. I believe that the user Pyaaz Kachori is violating the restriction you had imposed on Rajput. The user has earlier added the varna as Kshatriya obviously knowing that their varna status is disputed; I had reverted the edit; please see this! Now, the user is reverting LukeEmily edits without any explanation! Please look into the revision history of the article! Best Regards. Ekdalian (talk) 08:48, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ekdalian: Thanks for the report. I have p-blocked the editor from the page for 3-months and reverted their recent edits; note that the latter action is simply procedural and not a comment on the edits' merits, which can be discussed on the article talkpage. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 11:02, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your prompt action. Best Regards. Ekdalian (talk) 12:12, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Abecedare brother

[edit]

Hi Abecedare, Thank you for the message and the feedback. I’m new and still learning the right way to contribute. I didn’t mean to disrupt anything, and I’ll make sure to follow Wikipedia’s sourcing and formatting guidelines moving forward.

I’ll use the sandbox to practice and review the welcome links you mentioned. Please let me know if there’s anything specific I should improve.

Best regards, Cosmicom01 (talk) 20:09, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Replied on your talkpage. Let's keep the conversation in one place (and not use LLMs to compose message like the one above). Abecedare (talk) 20:48, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback, and I understand your point. I’ll be more careful with formatting and sourcing. I’ve revised the section using reliable references and kept the tone encyclopedic. Let me know if it looks better now or needs more work. Appreciate your time. Cosmicom01 (talk) 20:54, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help mediating a content dispute / warning for misconduct.

[edit]

Good morning Abecedare.

I reverted a statement on Viktor Axelsen's page due to WP:SYNTH, the sources didn't mention Axelsen as one of the greatest of all time at all:. Eventually another Wikipedian decided the source I hadn't deleted was in fact not supportive of the statement entirely and took liberty to remove it.

I took your advice and made a topic on the talk-page in reference to the general content removal. To which the edit was then reverted by Tung X. Nguyen without referencing himself to the talk-page, and stating that the statement "didn't even need citing".

I brought this issue to Tung X. Nguyen's talkpage requesting that he bring the matter to the topic talk page where I had announced this particular sourcing issue. However, during both attempts he made an incredibly combative paragraph which was in-laden with ad hominem attacks, and complete disregard for the issue at hand. I had cited WP:RS and WP:SYNTH multiple times for this particular user. He repeats this paragraph yet again on the talk page.

He then reverts the edit again indirectly calling me insane and more ad hominem attacks.

I did try to bring this issue to the talk page, but it appears he's arguing in complete bad faith. This user has been warned three times for not sourcing his content and appears to have not learned his lesson at all. I believe his behaviour warrants an indefinite block from editing the Viktor Axelsen page altogether.

Thank you very much for your time. DarkPhantom23 (talk) 08:40, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DarkPhantom23: Left a note at the article talkpage. Fwiw, I don't believe that Tung X. Nguyen is necessarily acting in bad faith; they just seem to be unaware of some of the applicable content policies and guidelines. However, if they continue the slow edit war or needless aggression, they may be blocked from the article or even the talkpage. Hopefully though that won't be needed and the involved editors can collaborate to strengthen the article content and sourcing. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 18:59, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your statement. I appreciate it. DarkPhantom23 (talk) 11:56, 2 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

i need help with some SVG images

[edit]

Greetings, I'm writing this message because I need help and I don't know who to ask.

Please, I humbly ask you not to disrespect me, because every time I seek help on this matter, I'm insulted without knowing what I'm doing wrong. I simply want to make a sincere contribution that can endure over time in this beautiful project that is Wikipedia.

There is an article on Dominican history I've been working on. This article needs maps of the island of Hispaniola so the reader can have a better understanding of the historical event explained in it.

There is a Dominican history book with some maps where this historical event is explained very well. I have uploaded SVG versions of the same maps. They are different colors, have different legends, and are unmistakable from the originals I created. However, they have been arbitrarily deleted. What can I do to prevent my svg image contributions from being deleted?

Please. I don't know who to turn to. Risantana (talk) 03:11, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please help with fixing this.

Canvassing violation

[edit]

I'd like to bring a user to your attention for a violation of Canvassing on the Michael Jackson article, user Hammelsmith brought a discussion to the DRN board without editorial consensus on the subject of Michael Jackson's allegations, then the discussion was brought back to the main page for a survey to deterrmine whether the requested changes would be added to the page in regards to Jackson's alleged guilt related to abuse allegations, which is very serious. The consensus was 9-2 in opposition of the changes, which should normally be the end of it before a moderator steps in and closes it, however the user now requested all users on the page to participate, in what appears to be canvassing to influence the outcome. I'd appreciate if you looked into this. Talk:Michael Jackson#Discussion Never17 (talk) 17:16, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
