Missing information

The article is missing vital and widely-debated topics (particularly, regarding Catholicism):

reception of Communion by tongue or hand
receiving Communion by kneeling or standing
usage of altar rails (Communion rails), their decline, and usage in some parishes

Citation styles

The Anabaptists' belief about the Eucharist or the Lord's Supper

The article is about the belief of Anabaptists about the Eucharist or Lord's Supper. I propose these two phrases that are included in the reference and that you vote on which would be the best definition.

1) Anabaptists emphasize the "mystery of communion with the living Christ in his Supper [that] comes into being by the power of the Spirit, dwelling in and working through the collected members of Christ's Body". (In this sentence, when it says "Christ's Body," they are referring to the members who make up that denomination; they are not referring to the body of Christ itself)

2) Anabaptists do not believe in the presence of Christ in the elements of the Last Supper. (the reference says the following: Was there a presence of Christ in the elements of the Anabaptist Lord’s Supper? The answer is an emphatic “no,” if we look for that presence in the accustomed places and with the accustomed explanations. There was no presence of Christ in the bread and wine as blessed elements).JasterOmega (talk) 17:26, 4 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your edit and you will not edit war until consensus is reached here. You have replaced an original quote with your own personal interpretation of the article. The Anabaptist view is that though Christ is not present in the elements themselves, he becomes present in the assembly gathered. It is important to include that information, which you keep removing. Since the quote says "through the collected members of Christ's Body", it is clear that that they are referring to the church members. Anupam^Talk 20:03, 4 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There are two issues here: 1.) this edit by JasterOmega is original research, not encyclopedically phrased, and bizarrely half-placed in the middle of a citation. 2.) The quote Anupam is supporting really clarifies next to nothing about the Eucharistic theology of Anabaptists relative to the other denominations discussed in that paragraph. Consider the quite succinct and clear phrasing of this source: "There is no uniform theology of the Lord’s Supper among early Anabaptists though seeing it as an act of remembrance and thanksgiving for Jesus’ saving sacrifice was for them, a central dimension of communion." I actually just removed the sentence instead (which I had added in the first place). The suggestion that you recommended is vague and I don't know how helpful it would be for the lede.
