Steps

[edit]

The official website has 1,665. 327 + 347 + (991) = 1,665.

It says 1,802 when opened. 360 + 380 + 1,062 = 1,802. Implies only one change: in 1983. https://www.toureiffel.paris/en/news/visit/take-stairs-and-discover-eiffel-tower-new-way

Many sites say it opened with 1,710.

No site (that I could find) reliably cites 1,792.

One with 1,792, has a typo (in a different spot: 564, should be 364). It says changes were made in 1900. https://www.wonders-of-the-world.net/Eiffel-Tower/Renovations-of-the-Eiffel-tower.php

No site (that I could find) could tell me when the third level stairs were closed to the public. But 1900 seems likely.

Note: there are 3 posts in Archives asking about Steps.

I’m here now and used the stairs to 2nd floor. There are 690 steps to ger here (it is marked along the way), please fix it in the article as I cannot do it (it’s still protected). Thank you. 95.81.168.176 (talk) 16:50, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Erika Eiffel

[edit]

I think Erika Eiffel, a woman who got married to the Eiffel Tower in 2007, should be mentioned in the article, perhaps even in the infobox listed as spouse. Jornmann32 (talk) 21:09, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Change: “The tower is 330 metres (1,083 ft) tall,…”

To this: “The tower itself stands 300 meters (984 feet) high. It rests on a base that is 5 meters (17 feet) tall, and the TV antenna atop the tower gives it a total elevation of 330 meters (1,083 feet)”

You can provide a sentence that is not a copy of what is given in the encyclopedia but has all the points included. Warriorglance(talk to me) 14:25, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: You cannot directly copy a article, you have to make it yourself. Valorrr (talk) 03:34, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Floor Heights

[edit]

The height of the top floor is easy to find, but the height of the 1st and 2nd floor should be added to the infobox or summarize in the intro. • SbmeirowTalk06:12, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Section Eiffel_Tower#Dimensions contains a diagram with all the floor heights. Firebrace (talk) 17:54, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Tallest Building Criteria

[edit]

On the article, it states that the Eiffel Tower was the tallest building in the world until 1930, but it was surpassed by the Ulm Minster much before that time. What’s up with that StratisG (talk) 22:59, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ulm Minster, the highest church steeple at 151.5 meters, is only a bit more than half the height of the Eiffel Tower whose original height was 300 meters (312 meters on opening day with flagpole). StarryGrandma (talk) 00:00, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
