This article needs a rewrite; it's style in unencyclopaedic and well.. just odd. Reminds me of a tour guide who's describing the monument as if the reader is standing directly before it. Sentences are simplistic, occasionally pedantic, tenses are in the present, and I hate to say it... but it sounds almost juvenile.

Translated?

Is this article translated from Persian? If so, it should have the translated tag at the top. If not, than this article is so far below the standards of Wikipedia it should sooner be nominated for deletion than trying to fix it. "About 1400 years ago" is not acceptable for dating, I'm not sure about the official rules of Wikipedia however specific years or estimations are always used in well-established articles. The biggest problem this article has however is the astonishing lack of sources. It's very clear that the entire article has been written by one user with a lot of personal opinion, which is not how this website works. It seems to have been mostly written by a German-speaker - see the history, and the original sources. But many others, including me, have touched it up. Do you really think we are likely to have anything like a precise date for when part of a statue in a rather remote cave collapsed "About 1400 years ago"? conflicting explanations for the fall of the statue

so i noticed the article contains contradicting statements regarding how the statue fell. one section states: "about 1400 years ago, after the arab invasion of iran and collapse of the sasanian empire, the statue was pulled down and a part of one of its legs was broken." elsewhere, it mentions: "after its fall (probably caused by an earthquake)".

there appears to be no definitive explanation for how the statue fell. many sources suggest it was simply an earthquake, with some indicating it occurred "most probably... in the period between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries". others similarly mention that "damaged probably during an earthquake, the statue was re-erected in 1958".

to my knowledge, contemporary arab accounts don't specifically mention the destruction of this statue, though i could be wrong?
