Citation needed over death
[edit]I have raised a citation need over the circumstances of his death, which are not mentioned in the linked reference to a player profile. I wonder if civilian air raid casualties like himself are listed in the Volksbund war graves website in the way WWII British Commonwealth civilian WWII casualties are listed by our Commonwealth War Graves Commission?Cloptonson (talk) 06:31, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- I have also corrected his death date from 4 April to 4 February of 1944 in line with German wikipedia.Cloptonson (talk) 07:43, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- I note External Link to the Eintracht Frankfurt archive shows a brief newspaper cutting from Kicker-Fussball, a pair of photos taken apparently in his best year as a player. The caption (in German) states he was a victim ("opfer") of an air raid on Frankfurt ("Terrorangriff au Frankfurt"). I have used that as a citation for his life dates and death circumstances. It remains to be seen if he was purely a civilian victim or happened to serve in the German military.Cloptonson (talk) 18:23, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
