Jagran New Media (JNM) is an Indian digital media company and a subsidiary of Jagran Prakashan Limited,[1] a publicly listed media conglomerate.[2] Headquartered in Noida, JNM operates multiple digital news platforms covering politics, business, technology, entertainment, and other topics.[3] As of March 2024, it reported over 97.5 million monthly users.[4]

History

Jagran New Media was established in 2008 as the digital division of Jagran Prakashan Limited, which also publishes the Hindi daily Dainik Jagran and operates Radio City. The company was led by CEO Bharat Gupta.[5][6][7]

Operations and initiatives

In September 2017, the company launched HerZindagi.com, a women's lifestyle vertical covering categories such as entertainment, style, wellness, food, and astrology. In 2019, the company's fact-checking division, Vishvas News, introduced Sach Ke Sathi, a media literacy initiative aimed at combating misinformation.[8][9][10] This initiative covered topics including health fact-checking, the Bihar elections, vaccination awareness, and assembly elections.[11] The campaign began on October 13, 2022, conducting workshops across 10 states and 17 cities.[12]

In 2022, the company expanded its digital presence in Gujarat with the launch of GujaratiJagran.com.[13] It also launched MarathiJagran.com. In August 2023, the company introduced two mobile apps, Jagran Fatafat and Jagran Local,[14] and collaborated with Google Cloud to organize an AI-themed hackathon titled #HackTheFuture: Marathon of the Minds.[15]

In December 2023, Jagran New Media partnered with the Google News Initiative to develop a Smart Content Management System (CMS).[16][17]

In January 2024, the company's CEO, Bharat Gupta, was elected regional president of the South Asian Division of the International News Media Association (INMA).[18] In March 2024, the company launched an e-commerce platform, Khojle.com, and initiated the Mera Power Vote campaign ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.[19]
