Young An-Dy
[edit]
Young An-Dy is an American history parody cover hip-hop artist based in Manhattan, KS.[1] He is the writer, artist, choreographer, and producer of the single track, Bust a Move (Andrew Jackson Edition).[2] He publishes his music first as a music video on his YouTube channel[1] before releasing the track on streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
Bust a Move (Andrew Jackson Edition)
[edit]On Nov, 3 2024, Young An-Dy released his first single music video, Bust a Move (Andrew Jackson Edition).[3]

Origins
[edit]In 2024, Young An-Dy was a student enrolled in Dual-Credit Kansas State University US History at Manhattan High School.[4] He was given a task by his teacher, Kent Hildebrand, to create an iMovie project focused around a notable figure in early US history, Andrew Jackson.[4] An-Dy began by brainstorming and writing the lyrics to a parody of Young MC's track, Bust a Move. In An-Dy's version, he details important events in Andrew Jackson's presidency including the Bank War and the Indian Removal Act. Young An-Dy went on to record his version of the lyrics over the backing track to the original song. He used the recording studio at K-State's Hale Library Innovation Lab Studio and recorded solo. Then, he got his brother Young Mat-Ty to help film dubbing at notebly locations around the Manhattan area such as CiCo Skatepark, Aggieville, and a railroad near Griffith Park.[3] Finally, he edited and released the track synced with the dubbed video to YouTube on Nov, 3 2024.[3]
The Hildys
[edit]Soon after it's release, the music video spread rapidly around Manhattan High School's campus. Young An-Dy became a popular icon to young students at MHS and in the Manhattan community.[4] Young An-Dy submitted his project to the iMovie awards ceremony, the Hildys, based off of the film award, the Oscars. The full video was shown to Mr. Hildebrand and many classes to be judged by Hildy himself. Then came the awards ceremony. Young An-Dy made an appearance and received the highest honor Hildy for Best Music, Choreography, and Overall Best Picture.[4]
Music release
[edit]Young An-Dy went on to release his track onto virtually every top music streaming service and continues to influence the Manhattan community to this day.[3]
