Vindhyapuram is a village in the Pathanamthitta District of Kerala, India. It is about 18 km from the railway station in Thiruvalla.
Demographics
[edit]As of 2001[update] India census, Vindhyapuram had a population of 34,985 with 17,268 males and 17,717 females.[1]
Etymology
[edit]Vindhya means "Knowledge" in and Puram means "Town" in Malayalam. Hence, Vindhyapuram means "Town of Knowledge".
Geography
[edit]The borders of the village are mostly delineated by Hills or canals, and include the villages of Vellayil, Ezhumattoor, Thadiyoor and Chalappally, and Municipality of Ranni.
