Viedoc Technologies AB – also referred to as Viedoc – is a privately held Swedish company that develops cloud-based software for managing clinical trials. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, the company provides a suite of eClinical tools used by life science organizations to support trial operations, data capture, and regulatory compliance. Since 2019, Viedoc has been majority-owned by the Nordic private equity firm, Monterro.[1]

History

Viedoc was established by clinical research and software professionals. The company initially operated as a contract research organization (CRO) before shifting to a software-focused model in 2005 with the launch of its electronic data capture (EDC) solution.

By 2018, the company had exited its CRO business entirely to focus on building a cloud-based platform for clinical research. On 11th November 2019, Monterro acquired a majority stake in Viedoc Technologies AB to support international expansion and accelerate product development.

Viedoc offers a modular eClinical suite that supports various stages of clinical trials. Modules include:

·        Viedoc EDC – an electronic data capture platform

·        Viedoc Me – ePRO/eCOA for patient-reported outcomes

·        Viedoc Logistics – randomization and trial supply management (RTSM)

·        Viedoc Reports – real-time analytics and visualization tools

·        Viedoc Connect – televisit and remote monitoring

·        Medical Coding & eTMF – software for coding dictionaries and electronic trial master file archiving

The platform complies with global regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11, ICH-GCP, GDPR, and HIPAA, and holds certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2.

Viedoc operates internationally with offices in: Sweden (headquarters), Japan, China, United States and, Vietnam.

As of 2025, the company employs approximately 140 people worldwide[2]

Viedoc’s solutions have been used in clinical trials in more than 75 countries. Notable collaborations include:

·        Chordate Medical used Viedoc Me ePRO in a CE-marked migraine treatment study.

·        FGK and RHEACELL employed Viedoc’s EDC for a complex Phase IIb trial on chronic venous ulcers.

·        University of Montpellier adopted Viedoc to train future clinical researchers.

·        Oslo University Hospital chose Viedoc for enhanced trial data management and patient outcomes.

The company's eClinical suite, including Viedoc Clinic and Viedoc Me, was highlighted for its user-friendly design, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards. Clients particularly appreciated the platform's affordability and responsive customer support.

Ownership

Viedoc Technologies AB is majority-owned by Monterro, a Stockholm-based private equity firm focused on scaling Nordic B2B software companies. Grev Ture Investments AB, which is part of Monterro, is the legal parent entity.
