Tariku Bogale is a South African filmmaker[1]. He is best known for his work in business and his advocacy for wildlife conservation and anti-poaching. [2]
Bogale is recognized for his involvement[3] in the production of the 2017 film Asinimali by Mbongeni Ngema, the sequel to the 1992 musical drama Sarafina!, the film adaptation of the Broadway hit Sarafina! (musical). Bogale is the lead actor, writer and executive producer of Bloodline: Now or Never, a feature film directed by Darrell Roodt. The film addresses the issue of rhino poaching in South Africa, the international illegal horn trade and the implications of rhino dehorning. In 2016, during the commencement of principal photography, Bogale was featured on the cover of the Sunday Independent print issue[1]. The film is yet to be publicly released[4]. Other notable productions include HEART, a short film on the world’s first heart transplant.
Bogale is the author of two books[5][6]. Bogale was the first black person to hold an accredited Foreign Exchange Licence by the South African Reserve Bank.[7]
