Comment: This article/topic has been declined twice (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Madhukar (author) (2nd nomination)) and I do not see what has changed since then. This draft does not address the issues that were raised in the AFD. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:38, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

Madhukar (born November 4, 1957, in Stuttgart, Germany), born Bernd Merkle, is a spiritual teacher of Advaita and author. He is the founder of (Madhukar – Enlighten Life) and conducts international (Satsang) retreats focusing on self-inquiry and Advaita Vedanta philosophy.
Early life and education
[edit]Madhukar was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany. He studied economics and philosophy and later worked as a television journalist.[1]In the early 1980s, he traveled extensively through Asia. During this time, he reports having experienced a kundalini awakening. He studied Dzogchen with Tibetan Buddhist teacher Namkhai Norbu and later taught yoga and meditation.[2]
Spiritual path
[edit]In 1992, Madhukar met H. W. L. Poonja (Papaji) in India, a direct disciple of the Indian sage Ramana Maharshi and a prominent figure in modern Advaita Vedanta. Following this encounter, Madhukar began teaching Satsangs internationally from 1997 onward. His events, referred to as *Satsang* (Sanskrit for "association with truth"), include dialogue-based gatherings where participants engage in inquiry and discussion.[3]
Teachings
[edit]Madhukar's teachings emphasize self-inquiry (*Atma Vichara*), guided by the fundamental question: "Who am I?"[3] This method of self-realization is intended to lead to inner peace and lasting happiness. He teaches that the perception of a separate „I" and a dualistic world is an illusion and that realizing one's true nature as pure consciousness leads to inner peace.[3] He encourages practitioners to adopt a direct approach to realization, stating: "Stop seeking, pause and recognize. The Self and thus bliss reveal themselves on their own."[4][5]
Madhukar also emphasizes connections between non-dual philosophy and modern scientific findings.[2]
