Comment: Excluding primary or unreliable sources, there's only a couple sources here that discuss this musical. Not enough to show notability. Rambley (talk) 09:32, 8 June 2025 (UTC)

Little House on the Ferry is an Off-Broadway musical conceived by Robert Gould with music and lyrics by Robert Gould and Robert Arbelo. It premiered at the American Theatre of Actors' Chernuchin Theatre in New York City in November 2011.[1]
The musical depicts a contemporary love story among a group of friends vacationing in Fire Island Pines, a location associated with LGBTQ+ culture. It explores themes of relationships, identity, and self-acceptance through a pop-influenced musical theatre score.[2]

Reception
[edit]Little House on the Ferry attracted notice within the LGBTQ+ theater community for its depiction of relationships and Fire Island culture.[1] The production was later remounted in a revised concert form at The Duplex in New York City.[7] Reviewers praised the show’s energetic musical numbers and its lively depiction of modern queer experiences, though some noted that the story favored entertainment over deep dramatic exploration.
Legacy
[edit]Several cast members subsequently achieved notable success. Seph Stanek appeared with Kristin Chenoweth at the 73rd Annual Tony Awards[8] and served on the faculty of her Broadway Bootcamp.[9] J. Harrison Ghee won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for their performance in Some Like It Hot.[10]
Controversy
[edit]During its original Off-Broadway run, Little House on the Ferry became the target of backstage vandalism the evening before its final performance, which had been turned into a benefit for the Fire Island Pines fire department following a major local fire.[11] Costumes were destroyed with bleach and sound files were deleted. According to the show's director Robert Gould, the vandalism was attributed to a feud with a neighboring production at the American Theatre of Actors. Despite the sabotage, the cast salvaged the evening’s performance, raising funds for the fire department, who received a standing ovation.
