Submission declined on 25 June 2025 by Tails Wx (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

Lauren Covas (born 19 October 1983) is an American chef, restaurateur, and culinary television personality, recognized for her work in contemporary American and Portuguese cuisine. A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, Covas has over 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry, including notable positions and entrepreneurial ventures.[1]
Covas began her professional career with an internship at the Boca Raton Resort and Beach Club in Florida.[2] She later joined the kitchen staff at Picasso, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in the Bellagio, Las Vegas.[3]
From 2008 to 2011, Covas operated The Chef's Place, a modern American restaurant and Portuguese-driven concept, located in New Brunswick, New Jersey.[4] She later collaborated with partners for Cafe Cafe in Newark, for which she was the chef from 2011 to 2014. Covas established Chef Covas Catering, a catering business that emerged from ongoing client demand and focuses on creating bespoke dining experiences.[5]
In 2016, Covas made her national television debut on the Food Network cooking competition series Chopped, where she won her episode.[6] She returned to television in 2019 as a contestant on Supermarket Stakeout, also on the Food Network, again winning the competition.[7] These appearances contributed to her growing presence on social media, where she became known for her engaging personality and practical, family-oriented cooking tutorials.
A first-generation American raised in a traditional Portuguese family, Covas cites her cultural heritage as a key influence in her cooking. Her culinary style emphasizes heritage, simplicity, and the importance of shared meals in fostering connection.[8]
Covas's first cookbook, scheduled for publication by Page Street Publishing in May 2025, is a collection of family recipes—many reinterpreted in her own style—accompanied by stories reflecting her culinary background and personal journey.[9]
