Lakshmi Priya is an Indian television actress who works in Tamil language television and few films. She first appeared in Mangalya Dhosham in Colors Tamil in 2020 and was also seen in supporting roles in films like Trip (2021), Panni Kutty (2022), Pathu Thala and The Road (both 2023). She is known for her role as Kaveri Vijay in the soap opera Mahanadhi which airs on Star Vijay.[1]
Career
[edit]After completing her college,[2] Lakshmi Priya began her career as a model, who appeared in several advertisements.[3] In 2018, she won the Miss Meraki beauty pageant title.[4] Following the success, she auditioned for the lead character of Nithya aka Nithyashree in the upcoming supernatural horror soap opera titled Mangalya Dhosham[5][6] and got selected to feature in the lead role which aired on Colors Tamil on 23 March 2020, but got temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] After crossing 100 episodes, on 8 October 2020, the lead actor Arun Padmanabhan announced a change of title from Mangalya Dhosham to Mangalya Sandhosham, and was last aired on 1 July 2022, after completing 1160 episodes.[8]
Later, in 2021, she appeared in her first feature film Trip and in the following year, she performed as the lead pair in Yogi Babu starrer Panni Kutty (2022) opposite to Karunakaran.[9] She was later seen portraying supporting roles in few other films like Pathu Thala and The Road in 2023. On 23 January 2023, her next soap opera titled Mahanadhi in which she would essay the role of Kaveri, was aired on Star Vijay along with Siragadikka Aasai.[10]
In late-April 2025 it was reported that, she would begin hosting the Super Singer Junior show's 10th Season opposite to Ma Ka Pa Anand replacing Priyanka Deshpande.[11]
