Oyadare Emmanuel Gbolahan (born 14 July 2004),[2] professionally known as JoBlaq,[3] is a Nigerian musician, online streamer,[4] content creator, music producer, and influencer.[5][6][7][8] He is known for his comedic online content and music collaborations, including the remix of his song “Jo Vibe” featuring Zinoleesky.[9][10][11]
Early life and education
[edit]JoBlaq was born on and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He is originally from Osun State and was brought up in a Christian household. He attended private schools in Lagos and later studied at Crawford University.[12][13]
Career
[edit]JoBlaq began his career as a digital content creator, gaining attention for short-film comedy videos shared on platforms like TikTok[14] and Instagram. His skits often draw on everyday Nigerian experiences and are characterized by humor and relatable storytelling.[15][16][17] In addition to online content, JoBlaq has worked as a music producer and songwriter. His musical work blends Afrobeats, street-pop, and Afrofusion elements.[18][19]
Music career
[edit]In 2024, JoBlaq released the track “Jo Vibe” in collaboration with Nigerian artist and streamer Peller.[20] A remix featuring Zinoleesky[21] was later released, drawing wider attention and marking a significant point in his music career.[22]
