Comment: Seems like specific mostly World Cup related thing? Don't see much significant coverage. GoldRomean (talk) 16:38, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
Hayya (Arabic: هَيّا) is an Eletronic Entry Visa (E-visa) to the State of Qatar..[1] Originally launched as an entry permit to enter Qatar and the match venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup,[2] Hayya evolved into a completely independent platform that allows tourists and visitors entry to Qatar and serves as an entry permit[3]
Hayya was launched in the first quarter of 2022 as the Qatari counterpart of Russia's 2018 World Cup Fan ID. The term Hayya! (literally "come on!") was used to refer to the mobile phone application as well as the permit offered after applying for an entry visa through the application. It was mandatory for the people attending the World Cup to have a Hayya Card (now a Hayya Visa), both to enter Qatar and the match stadium[4]. Users with an "approved" Hayya permit also had access to free Metro train and bus transport during the World Cup 2022[5].
After Dec 2, 2022, Hayya no longer required match tickets to apply for a Hayya Visa. However, the Hayya program ended on 23rd January 2023 and after a week, was renewed with new rules[6][7].
Under this new iteration, match tickets were no longer required and anyone who visited Qatar during the World Cup on a Hayya Visa was given a free entry permit for a full year until 24th January 2024[8]. Existing users were also given three "invitation" codes[9] which they could give out to their friends and family members for a free Hayya Visa valid till 24th January 2024, called "Hayya With Me." This date was then further extended to February 2024[10][11]
Starting the second quarter of 2023, Hayya[12] also launched different types of visas[13], namely Tourist Visa (A1), GCC Resident Visa (A2), Visa with ETA (A3), and Visa for Companion of GCC Citizen (A4) serving the following purposes:
(A1) Tourist Visa: General Visa to the State of Qatar for visit and tourism.
(A2) GCC Residents Visa: Visa for GCC residents with valid residency of a minimum of 3 months from the date of arrival to Qatar.
(A3) Visa with ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization): Visa for visitors who already have a valid Schengen, US, UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand visa or residency.
(A4) Visa for Companion of GCC Citizen: Visa of a visitor accompanying a GCC citizen visiting the State of Qatar.
Accommodation through Discover Qatar, the destination management division of Qatar Airways Group,[14] is mandatory for certain cases as per the MOI.[15]
After January 24th January 2024, Hayya With Me as a visa was discontinued[16] and only 30-day, single-entry visas A1, A2, A3, and A4 were available. However, The Government of Qatar has also launched new types of visas for the US nationals called F1 Visa available only for the US Citizens.[17][12]
