Comment: Receiving the National Film Award is a sign of notability, but the draft must be drastically revised to become a viable article. An encyclopedia article is not a CV – there shouldn't be long lists of everything he has done, instead the article should focus on those aspects of his work that have been discussed in secondary and fully independent sources. Absolutely no links to Youtube videos in the article text, and in most cases Youtube videos are not appropriate to use as sources either (see WP:YOUTUBE for more details on this). Again, we need secondary sources – a link to his TEDx talk is not a source that can be used to verify information about that TEDx talk, and if people completely unconnected to him have not written commentaries about the talk, it shouldn't be included here. The same thing applies to many other pieces of information in the draft. The tone is almost entirely promotional, and contains LLM style fluff such as "He lent his voice to films like Action Replayy (2010) and Guzaarish (2010), showcasing his versatility as both a singer and a voice actor. " "In addition to his professional work, Castellino is deeply involved in mentoring aspiring voice artists through his voice training program". Please rewrite the entire draft (or what remains when the unsourced stuff is taken out) in a neutral, factual tone. bonadea contributions talk 13:36, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

In 2018, Castellino received the National Film Award for Best Narration/Voice Over for his work in the documentary The Lion of Ladakh, which depicted the Kargil War and the contributions of Colonel Sonam Wangchuk.[2] The award was presented by Smriti Irani at the 65th National Film Awards on May 3, 2018.[3][4][5]
Castellino has also worked as a playback singer in Bollywood films. For instance, he sang the track "Smile" in the film Guzaarish (2010) and was one of the singers for the song "Jungle Raje" in the Hindi version of Kabali (2016).[6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
He performed in advertising campaigns for GE India and BMW.
Early Life and Background
[edit]François Castellino comes from a family involved in a horticulture and landscape development business that serviced corporate and private organizations. He did not pursue the family business, instead following his interest in theatre, acting, voice acting, and singing.[13][14][15]
His introduction to the voice acting field came through his sister, who was already in the industry. Castellino initially pursued theatre before transitioning more fully into voice work. He pursued higher education in history and ancient Indian culture, subjects he noted were not directly related to his subsequent career in voice acting.[16][17]
Career
[edit]Entry into Voice Acting
[edit]François Castellino began his career in voice acting following initial work in theatre. He has stated that his sister, Ella Castellino, an established voice artist, introduced him to the voice-over industry and helped him secure early assignments.
Castellino has mentioned that when he started, India's voice-over industry was relatively small. He began with roles such as background narration and small advertisements.[18][19]
Professional Growth and Recognition
[edit]François Castellino began working on advertisements, television channel promos, and corporate audiovisual projects, establishing himself within the voice-over industry. His first major television commercial marked a turning point in his career, leading to more consistent opportunities.
He has voiced a variety of projects, including narrations, commercials, and character roles. Castellino has also worked as a character voice artist, providing narration for documentaries as well as voicing animated and commercial roles.
National Award
[edit]In 2018, Castellino received the National Film Award for Best Narration / Voice Over|National Film Award for Best Narration/Voice Over for his work on the documentary ''The Lion of Ladakh''. The film focuses on the Kargil War and the role of Lieutenant Colonel Sonam Wangchuk. [20] The Hindu reported on the documentary and its subject matter..[21][22][1]
International and Bollywood Projects
[edit]Beyond Indian markets, Castellino has worked on international advertising campaigns for companies such as GE India and BMW.[23][24] As a playback singer, he contributed to Bollywood films including Action Replayy and Guzaarish. His experience in both voice acting and singing expanded his range of work within the industry.[25][26]
