Prof. (Dr.) Amit Kansal (born on September 24, 1975) is an Indian academician, administrator, social worker, author, and public intellectual known for his contributions in political science education, youth empowerment, and social reform. In addition, he has held several prestigious positions in government bodies and educational institutions, and is the founder of multiple organizations like Kansal Foundation and Nirman - A Social Organisation(NASO) focused on education, social welfare, and skill development.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Amit Kansal was born on September 24, 1975, in Shaheed Udham Singh Wala, Sunam, Sangrur district, Punjab. He hails from a family deeply involved in public service and politics. His mother, Smt. Darshna Kansal, is a social activist and politician who has served as Senior Vice President, Municipal Council Sunam, and as District President and State Secretary, BJP (Mahila Morcha). His father, Shri Bhagwan Daas Kansal, has served as District Cashier, BJP Sangrur, and District President, BJP (Transport Cell), Sangrur.
Dr. Kansal earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Punjabi University, Patiala, with his research focused on Akali Alliances in Punjab Since 1967, which received acclaim from political scholars. He holds four Master's degrees in Political Science, Journalism & Mass Communication and Bhagwat Gita, and Distance Education from various recognized institutions. He has also completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Diploma in Horticulture, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning.
