Castleton is a 2025 young adult novel by Tray Burch. It is Burch's debut novel. The book is narrated following a group of teenagers as they navigate identity, desire, and fractured loyalty during one sweltering summer in a seemingly perfect town. Beneath the surface of parties, lake houses, and sunrises, secrets begin to unravel-and what they thought was buried comes back to haunt them. Told through multiple points of view, this emotionally charged coming-of-age novel explores grief, queerness, and the fragile performances we mistake for survival.[1]
Castleton was published on June 10, 2025, by BWE Media Networks.[2]
Plot
[edit]A group of teens unravel over one unforgettable summer in a seemingly perfect town, where secrets, grief, and desire simmer just beneath the surface.[3]
Jane, who keeps seeing her dead brother. Sam, whose secret love could explode everything. Molly, the new girl with a diary full of questions. Heather, who’s falling apart behind her pink perfection. E.J., the golden boy caught between loyalty and longing.
When a party ends in blood, and a video threatens to destroy more than reputations, everyone is left scrambling. Told in shifting points of view, CASTLETON is a bold, cinematic debut about privilege, pressure, and the lies we tell ourselves and the ones we love.[4]
Kindle Edition
[edit]In addition to paperback editions released internationally,[5] an electronic version was released through Amazon Kindle on the same day as the novel.[6]
