In 1972, Arturo Quezada represented Bolivia at the first Festival de la OTI held in Madrid, Spain.[2] He performed the song “No volveré a pasar por allí” (“I won’t pass by there again”), composed by the Spanish duo Ramón Arcusa and Manuel de la Calva of Dúo Dinámico. This song was notably the first to be performed in the history of the OTI Festival. Quezada’s performance earned Bolivia the 10th place with 3 points.

The following year, in 1973, Quezada returned to the OTI Festival, which took place in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He performed “No sé vivir sin ti” (“I can’t live without you”), securing the 14th position with 1 point.[citation needed]
