Alex Rogers

[edit]

Alex Talman Rogers (born September 4, 1971) is an American entrepreneur and cannabis activist. He is the founder of the International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) and Ashland Alternative Health.[1] He also co-founded the Talman Group and currently resides in Slovenia.[2]

Activism

[edit]

Rogers began advocating for cannabis legalization in the early 1990s after moving to Santa Cruz, California. He worked with prominent reformers such as Jack Herer, Dennis Peron, and Ed Rosenthal.[3] In 1995, he was imprisoned in Germany for cannabis activism, a story later covered by American media.[4]

Ashland Alternative Health

[edit]

In 2010, Rogers founded Ashland Alternative Health, a medical cannabis clinic in Oregon. The clinic aired what is considered the first medical cannabis advertisement to run on U.S. network television.[5]

International Cannabis Business Conference

[edit]

Rogers launched the International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) in 2014 in Portland, Oregon.[6] The conference expanded to cities worldwide, including San Francisco,[7] Vancouver,[8] Hawaii,[9] Barcelona,[10] Zurich,[11] Berlin,[12] Croatia,[13] and Slovenia.[14]

In 2025, *Honeysuckle Magazine* described ICBC as a milestone for Germany’s path to legalization.[15] The same year, *Beard Bros* highlighted the conference’s impact on mainstreaming global cannabis business.[16]
