A. B. M. Obaidul Islam is a distinguished Bangladeshi academic.[1] He is the vice chancellor of the Bangladesh Open University (BOU).[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] And he is the professor of the Department of Physics at Dhaka University.[10] And also he serves as the president of the University Teachers Association of Bangladesh (UTAB).[11] He is the president of the Alumni Association of German Universities in Bangladesh (AAGUB).[12]
