Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) is a private deemed-to-be university located in Deralakatte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. It was granted deemed university status in 2008 by the University Grants Commission (UGC), bringing together several pre-existing institutions under a unified academic framework. The oldest of these is the Yenepoya Dental College, established in 1992.[1]
The university comprises a range of constituent colleges offering programs in disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Engineering, and Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management.[2]
Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has been recognized by University Grants Commission, New Delhi, India under 3(A) of the UGC Act, 1956 and received NAAC Grade " A+".

Mr. Farhaad Yenepoya is the Pro-Chancellor of Yenepoya Group of Institutions.[3] It has about 13,000 students.
Yenepoya Medical College
[edit]Yenepoya Medical College is located at about 11 kms from Mangalore City. The college was established in 1999. Post-graduate courses are being offered by the university since 2005. The M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) course lasts for about 4.5 years plus a one year mandatory internship as per set standards of the National Medical Commission for India. The courses are mainly oriented for earning a degree.

- MD (General Medicine, Community Medicine, Paediatrics, Pathology, TB & Chest, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry)
- MS (OBG, Orthopaedics, General surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT)
Yenepoya Dental College
[edit]The B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course is offered by the Yenepoya Dental College as per norms laid out by Dental Council of India.[4][5][6]
MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) courses are three years. The examinations and awarding of degrees are regulated by Yenepoya University.[7]

Centers & Incubator
[edit]Yenepoya University has brought out various centers to strengthen academic engagements. One such flagship is the Center for Ethics started in 2011.
The University has also started the Yenepoya Technology Incubator to support healthcare start-ups in the region and to support innovation and design in mainstream industries. Recently, BIRAC awarded and recognized the same as the Best Incubator award.
Bangalore Building Campus
[edit]The university set up a campus at Bangalore to meet the rising demand of students. Very selected and limited courses are offered there and the main administrative set up remains at Mangalore only. [8]
Advanced Technical Cooperation Center
[edit]Yenepoya ( Deemed to be university) recognized Edward & Cynthia Institute of Public Health (ECIPH)[9] as an advanced technical cooperation center which supports specialized Masters of Public Health (MPH)[10][11] at Mangaluru.

- Santhosh Kumar – Cybersecurity researcher and ethical hacker[15] ,he was recognized with multiple Hall of Fame honors from leading organizations, including IBM Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) in 2025,[16] Google, NASA,[17] Vodafone, Apple,[18] the Australian Government Inspector-General & Taxation Ombudsman,[19] Flipkart, Cisco Meraki, the Bureau of Indian Affairs,[20] Lenovo, Paytm, and Citigroup for his contributions to cybersecurity research and responsible vulnerability disclosure. He is also Developer of India's First Deepfake detection system "Vastav AI"[21][22][23]
Strategic MoUs
[edit]The University from time to time engages in strategic MoUs for furthering higher education prospects.[24]
Recently the University signed a strategic educational and healthcare diplomacy MoU with the High Commission of the Republic of the Gambia in India.[25]
