Woodlands is a census-designated place in San Luis Obispo County, California.[2] "The Woodlands" is a 956-acre master planned community with single- and multi-family homes, a resort hotel, retail and office space, located adjacent to Nipomo, California.[4] Woodlands sits at an elevation of 282 feet (86 m).[2] The 2020 United States census reported Woodlands's population was 1,933.[3]

[edit]According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers an area of 1.7 square miles (4.3 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
[edit]The 2020 United States census reported that Woodlands had a population of 1,933. The population density was 1,170.1 inhabitants per square mile (451.8/km2). The racial makeup of Woodlands was 89.6% White, 1.0% African American, 0.3% Native American, 3.5% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.0% from other races, and 4.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.9% of the population.[5]
The whole population lived in households. There were 993 households, out of which 7.2% included children under the age of 18, 80.2% were married-couple households, 2.4% were cohabiting couple households, 11.0% had a female householder with no partner present, and 6.4% had a male householder with no partner present. 13.3% of households were one person, and 10.8% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 1.95.[5] There were 840 families (84.6% of all households).[6]
The age distribution was 2.5% under the age of 18, 2.6% aged 18 to 24, 7.9% aged 25 to 44, 26.4% aged 45 to 64, and 60.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 67.8 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.5 males.[5]
There were 1,137 housing units at an average density of 688.3 units per square mile (265.8 units/km2), of which 993 (87.3%) were occupied. Of these, 91.0% were owner-occupied, and 9.0% were occupied by renters.[5]
In 2023, the US Census Bureau estimated that median household income was $160,694, and the per capita income was $86,613. About 0.0% of families and 0.8% of the population were below the poverty line.[7]
Education
