While reviewing math articles, I tripped over the article Uses of trigonometry which seems to be some kind of original research into the history of trigonometry, or the sociology of it, or some history of engineering, or I don't know what. It's certainly terrible as a math article per se, and I'm not sure what to do with it. It could be PRODed and AfD'ed of course, but perhaps it could be turned into a worthwhile article in epistomology or something like that. I'm posting this note in several other wikiprojects, as I'm not sure what else to do with it. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 05:01, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
I've been creating List of pre-Socratic philosophers over the last two weeks and would appreciate if anyone else knowledgeable in the area wanted to look it over or keep an eye on it. Given its scope and the fact that I'm summarizing all of these figures in just a few sentences each, it would be good to have a few more eyes on it to catch any mistakes I might make or any possible improvements on the descriptions or organization. Any feedback at Talk:List of pre-Socratic philosophers or just through editing the article would be appreciated! Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 00:56, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
The current article (which IMO is very poor) seems to essentially be about one particular critique of Moore's conception of the naturalistic fallacy, and as such I think the topic would be better discussed (if at all) in a section on the Naturalistic fallacy article. I've accordingly made a deletion discussion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Definist_fallacy ExplodingCabbage (talk) 16:31, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

I asked for a Carnap picture and @Shapeyness: sure found one quickly. Can anyone find a free photo of the Cayster River which depicts movement? I can't seem to find a satisfactory one. The Halys River image is better associated with Thales, but no picture of the Cayster has the same dynamism. Cake (talk) 02:59, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- might be a better idea to try WikiProject Turkey Psychastes (talk) 16:59, 14 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I posted a question on the talk page of Talk:Ethics of belief and would greatly appreciate input from philosophy editors.
I want to rewrite this article and focus it to be specific about the article written by W. K. Clifford in 1877 that has the same name. The current content of this article should move to Epistemic responsibility.
You can see the discussion here: Talk:Ethics of belief#Maybe merge with Epistemic Responsibility? Saroad (talk) 19:34, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
![]() Hello, |

The article Value of control has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged as Unreferenced and unimproved for 15 and 1/2 years. Makes no sense. WP:TNT.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bearian (talk) 01:42, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
Yo, hello! Apparently the idea of in ultramque partem has its importance in philosophy? I don't know if anybody would perhaps mind helping me out a bit. I've found few sources so far 🙏🏽 Don't know if perhaps the draft is doomed to not become an article. Working on it is a bit of a pet project of mine and I would love some help 🙏🏽 User:D Kirlston - talk 01:24, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
Was there a chat about redirecting the indexes ? [1], [2], [3] Moxy🍁 06:47, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
- Nope. I saw how many others have failed to survive an AfD in the past few years and decided to be somewhat WP:BOLD. Well, not really that bold actually, because I'd be shocked if they pass AfD, and I do intend to nominate them if there's pushback. They're by and large useless, they were virtually never maintained, they are infeasible to maintain, and an index that's not even 20% complete provides no value.
- I also marked the associated wikiproject defunct, as it has been dead letter for at least three years. Psychastes (talk) 07:32, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of philosophies (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.Psychastes (talk) 23:27, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
