Discussion at WP:AN re: speedy deletion of articles created by a banned user

[edit]

See: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Creations by banned or blocked users -- must they always be speedily deleted per WP:G5?

The Toby Cadman article was started by one of 1971asif's sockpuppets after 1971asif was blocked. It's about a British human rights lawyer. This article appears at first glance to be worth keeping and improving.

There's a discussion as to whether this and many other of 1971asif's articles should be speedily deleted per WP:G5 ("Creations by banned or blocked users, or in violation of general sanctions").

Does this look like a worthwhile article to you?

Thanks, A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 21:06, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... Okay, looking at the article... Well, it could use some work. Right now I would say the biggest issue is that it's a bit resume-like, particularly the "cases" and "academic contributions" sections. The talk page comments allegedly made by the actual Toby Cadman perhaps add a few wrinkles to this. I'm not really sure what to make of them. Based on the sources, I do think that the subject could be sufficiently notable and that the article could be improved to be more policy-compliant. I guess the question is, is it worth it? I wouldn't say this article is particularly high-priority for WikiProject Human Rights. Spookyaki (talk) 02:18, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Template 'Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights'

[edit]

Please forgive me if this has been discussed, but I just found this project and in reading the main page noticed that the template '{{Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights}}' is redlinked on the mainpage. Not sure what the history is there, but wanted to flag it.

Thanks and I look forward to working with you all! i know you're a dog 19:49, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
