As of 7 June 2023, both the geographical feature and locality Fraser Island are officially renamed K'gari.[1]. Comments sought on:

About Draft:Mount Hope, Queensland

Hello all,

As far as I can see there is no actual mountain of this name in Queensland.

It might possibly refer to a historic cattle station somewhere in Gulf Country (North West Queensland)

I seek your thoughts about this.

The draft is citing a specific mine near Duchess, so there's potentially an article about that topic. it's possible the mine's name comes from a mountain of that name (the QLD place name database lists many mountains of that name) and/or from a pastoral property of that name.
