In case anyone's wondering why User:1Angela is a sysop, it's because I was trying to answer Snoyes' question on the mailing list about whether such things were logged. They are. It appears in the Wikipedia:Bureaucrat log which shows up in recent changes. I have listed 1Angela on Wikipedia:Requests for de-adminship. Angela. 19:38, Feb 16, 2004 (UTC)

Heh, we both had the same idea. User:Pcb22 (my sock puppet!) was also made a sysop for testing purpose. Will list at requests for de-adminship. Pete/Pcb21 (talk) 20:03, 16 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Bureaucrat bug

Bureaucrats seem to have lost the ability to make bureaucrats so I had to make Ilyanep one using the steward interface instead, which means it doesn't show up on this log. I'll report it as a bug. Angela. 23:07, 20 Jun 2004 (UTC)

There is a stripped tag Lint error in the page. Checking the page history, it was introduced following this edit. The error is in the line that begins with 14:57, 26 Jun 2004 -

The redundant "</li> at the end should be removed.

Protection template {{pp|small=yes}} can be added to the top of page as well.

@AmongusRanger: Making a request at Wikipedia:Requests for bureaucratship and having the community approve you is technically the only requirement, but it's very unlikely you'll succeed without a few years of experience. Please change the recently added sentence starting "Prior to February 2004 ..." to "Before February 2004, promoting users required "manually mucking about in the database" and hence was not automatically logged anywhere."
