Wikipedia:WikiProject Dams/Assessment

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to the assessment department of the Dams WikiProject! This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's Dam articles. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

Category:Dam articles by quality serves as the foundation for an automatically generated worklist. The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WikiProject Dams}} project banner. Filling in a rating in the class parameter of the {{WikiProject Dams}} template on the talk page of an article causes the name of that article to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:Dam articles by quality.

Project template

The template banner, {{WikiProject Dams|class =|importance =}} is added to the talk pages of dam articles. and gives:

For non-mainspace content, the following values may be used:

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Dams}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Dams|importance=???}}

The following values may be used for the importance parameter to describe the relative importance of the article within the project (see Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Priority of topic for assessment criteria):
