Bay Area wiki enthusiasts have been gathering since at least 2007. There is a solid community of contributors around here; maybe related to the proximity of Silicon Valley and all the tech-focused creativity that brings; the rich non-profit presence in the area; and the presence, since 2008, of the Wikimedia Foundation's global headquarters. A Bay Area Wikipedians User Group was proposed in 2024.

NEW: a wiki-tech working group will be meeting during the monthly meetup. Join us if you are a developer wanting to improve wiki projects, or an existing technical contributor. What is the meetup like? We organize regular presentations, social times and working groups on themes common to our members.
