Wibi Andrino (born April 15, 1986) is an Indonesian politican Lhokseumawe-born, Aceh. Wibi is a member and speaker of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) for the 2024–2029 period from the NasDem Party representing the 7th electoral district (constituency).

He is also currently serves as the Chairperson of the NasDem Party DKI Jakarta DPW and also the Chairperson of the NasDem Faction of the Jakarta DPRD. Previously, Wibi had held a number of positions in the NasDem Party, namely, Head of the Legal, Advocacy and Human Rights Department, Treasurer of the Legal Advocacy Agency and Chair of the NasDem Party Regional Leadership Council.

He is the nephew of Surya Paloh, who is currently the chairman of the NasDem Party.

Early Life

Wibi Andrino was born in Lhokseumawe, Aceh on April 15, 1986. Wibi is the youngest of two siblings. Wibi's father and mother are native Acehnese who migrated to Jakarta. Wibi is known as a cheerful and sociable young man. At his mature age, Wibi did not choose to marry and have a family like other young men. He chose to be single and complete his service duties first for his family and society through politics. The turning point for Wibi Andrino occurred on December 14, 2001, Wibi's father passed away, precisely when Wibi was still in the 1st grade of high school. The passing of his father was a moment that hit Wibi and his family very hard. It fostered his spirit to become someone who could make his family proud, especially his mother.

Before entering the world of politics, Wibi completed his Law studies at Trisakti University in 2010 and was a lawyer for the Paskalis Da Cunha & Partners Law Office before deciding to establish his own law firm Vox Populi & Co in 2014, coinciding with the completion of his Master of Litigation Law studies at Gadjah Mada University.

Wibi Andrino was born into a family that has great concern for the values of nationalism and leadership. Wibi underwent formal education to achieve a Bachelor of Law (SH) and Master of Law (MH) degree, which became an important foundation for his role in the world of politics and legislature. His political career began with his activeness in organizations, until finally he plunged directly into the world of parliament after being elected as a member of the DPRD of DKI Jakarta in the 2019 Election. As a young politician, Wibi has shown his commitment to public service. During his term of office, Wibi was often involved in various social programs, such as preventing dengue fever in the community and distributing aid to orphans. Wibi also serves as a facilitator for the public to convey complaints or aspirations through the “Lapor Bang Wibi” channel which Wibi actively manages.

In addition to being a legislator, Wibi serves as the Chairman of the DPW NasDem Party for DKI Jakarta. In his leadership, Wibi brought a youthful spirit into the party structure and contributed to various political initiatives in the capital city. In the 2019 Election, Wibi was elected as a people's representative in the Jakarta DPRD and was appointed as the Chairperson of the NasDem Party Faction of the Jakarta DPRD for the 2019-2024 period. Right when Wibi had just been inaugurated, Wibi's mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which was estimated to be in stage 2b at that time. This devastated Wibi and his family. As a man and also the backbone of the family, Wibi did not immediately give up on treating his mother and also remained focused on working as a member of the DPRD. After 2 years of treatment, a miracle finally came, his mother was declared cured of cancer. Wibi felt that this miracle was a blessing from the prayer of Wibi Andrino volunteers and the community who believed in and supported him.

Wibi's name also surfaced in the discourse of the 2024 Jakarta Governor Election as one of the candidates proposed by the NasDem Party. Wibi is known to have a progressive vision that places the welfare of the people as a top priority. Wibi often voices the importance of political education for the younger generation and the need for innovative policies to address various problems in Jakarta. Through his work, Wibi hopes to make a real contribution to the development of the capital city, while strengthening public trust in the role of the legislature.

Educational Background

1. Bachelor of Law (S.H.):

Wibi Andrino was a student at Trisakti University Jakarta from 2005 to 2010 who studied and focused on civil law and litigation. Wibi's interest in politics has grown from a young age. At Trisakti University, Wibi was active as a Member of the Trisakti University Moot Court. Wibi was also actively involved in Lapindo Mud Advocacy as a friend of the Indonesian Environmental Forum (WALHI).

2. Master of Law (M.H.):

Wibi Andrino also continued his education to take a Master's degree at Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta from 2012 to 2018. In pursuing his Master's education, Wibi specialized in advanced litigation, with a thesis focusing on legal reform.

Involvement in Organizations

As a native son of Aceh, Wibi is also active in the Aceh Customary Community as the Head of Youth Affairs in the management of PP Taman Iskandar Muda (PP TIM). In addition, this man who loves cycling also serves as Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation, which is led by the general chairperson Siti Nurbaya Bakar who is also the Minister of Environment and Forestry. In addition to his role in politics, Wibi is also active in various professional and social organizations. From 2021 to 2024, Wibi served as the General Chairperson of ADKI DKI Jakarta. During his term of office, Wibi always focused on developing creative villages in the Jakarta area through collaboration with MSMEs and local communities. The activities he carries out are aimed at supporting and assisting micro, small and medium enterprises owned by the community. Not only that, as a young generation, Wibi also plunges into and is actively involved in the business world. In 2022, Wibi was officially inaugurated as part of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association or Hipmi Jaya. Together with young entrepreneurs, Wibi actively invites the younger generation to dare to become entrepreneurs. HIPMI Jaya is a management body that supports young entrepreneurs in Jakarta through training and business innovation programs. Through HIPMI Jaya, Wibi also participates in supporting the younger generation who are starting their businesses. Wibi has also served as Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation. In his position as Secretary General, Wibi is actively involved in promoting martial arts among young people. In 2024, Wibi was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry or often abbreviated as KADIN Jakarta. As Deputy Chairman of KADIN, Wibi is active in contributing to economic policies and the development of the micro-business sector in Jakarta. In this position, Wibi also participates in helping economic development in Indonesia through policies, services and activities that Wibi implements in KADIN.

Career in Law

Early Career in law Wibi began his professional journey as a lawyer at the Paskalis Da Cunha & Partners Law Office. Wibi's struggle in the legal field was not only with NasDem. Wibi also founded Vox Populi & Co Law Firm in 2014. Wibi founded the Vox Populi & Co Firm, which provides legal services in the fields of litigation, business consulting, and public legal advocacy. Together with the law firm that Wibi founded with several of his friends, Wibi often provides free legal assistance to those in need. Of course, the Vox Populi & Co Firm is very helpful for the community in solving various legal problems. Not only that, Wibi is also actively involved in LBH. Active in providing legal assistance to underprivileged communities through LBH Ansor DKI Jakarta, where Wibi has served as Chairman of the Advisory Board since 2019. As a community figure with an educational background in Law, of course Wibi wants to use all the knowledge he has to help all communities in solving various existing legal problems. In 2021, Wibi received a mandate from the Indonesian Creative Village Association (ADKI), to serve as Chairman for the 2021-2024 term. Together with ADKI, Wibi is committed to reviving creative villages through innovation in utilizing digital markets, especially during difficult times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Career in Politics

Wibi began his political journey by joining the NasDem Party in 2012. Starting his journey in NasDem, Wibi was immediately active in the party's national structure, namely the NasDem Party Legal Advocacy Agency, with the position of Treasurer. An important chapter in Wibi's political life began in 2013. At that time, Wibi was trusted by the General Chairman of the NasDem Party, namely Surya Paloh to become the Head of the Department of Law and Human Rights of the NasDem Party DPP. Wibi was also one of the pioneers in the formation of the NasDem Party's Legal Advocacy Agency (BAHU) at the beginning of the NasDem Party's founding. Together with BAHU, Wibi fought to file a judicial review of Article 8 paragraph 1 concerning the verification of parties participating in the Election in the General Election Law to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. As a result, the Panel Judge granted the judicial review and determined the NasDem Party as one of the parties participating in the Election. From 2013 to 2019, Wibi served as Head of the Department of Law, Advocacy, and Human Rights at the NasDem Party DPP. In this position, Wibi contributed to formulating party legal policies and advocacy for the community. In the 2014 Election, Wibi ran as a member of the DPRD of DKI Jakarta in the Central Jakarta Electoral District. Although at that time Wibi had not succeeded in sitting in the City Hall, Wibi succeeded in providing one seat for the NasDem Party in the DKI Jakarta DPRD. After the 2014 Election, Wibi further strengthened the BAHU of the NasDem Party in filing a lawsuit for a dispute over the election results at the Constitutional Court. As a result, Wibi succeeded in bringing the NasDem Party to win the 36th seat in the DPR RI for the North Maluku Electoral District through a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court. This success brought him back to being trusted to become Deputy Coordinating Minister for Indonesian Politics and Security for the Maluku and North Maluku DPP NasDem Party.

In 2019 Wibi was nominated to advance to the election. Wibi was elected as a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD representing Electoral District 7, which includes the areas of Cilandak, Kebayoran Baru, Kebayoran Lama, Pesanggrahan, and Setiabudi. During this period, Wibi was trusted as the Chairman of the NasDem Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD for the 2019-2024 period. Since being officially inaugurated, Wibi has made a breakthrough by making the NasDem Faction Office a people's house, not just a metaphor. Under Wibi's command, the NasDem Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD became a working partner of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Together with Governor Anies Rasyid Baswedan, the DKI NasDem Faction collaborated to build the City of Jakarta so that the City is Advanced and its Citizens are Happy. The development that Wibi carried out focused on improving public services, empowering the local economy, and strengthening legislation at the provincial level. Furthermore, in 2024, Wibi was re-elected as a member of the DPRD for the 2024 to 2029 period, representing the same electoral district. Wibi now serves as Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, a strategic position that makes him more active in policy making at the provincial level.

As one of the political figures from the NasDem party, Wibi once served as secretary of the NasDem DPW DKI Jakarta from 2014 to 2024. In this capacity, Wibi was responsible for managing party activities at the regional level, including leading cadre formation and political campaigns in the capital city. Furthermore, Wibi currently serves as Chair of the NasDem DPW DKI Jakarta for the period 2024 to 2029. In the most recent period, Wibi was trusted to lead NasDem in DKI Jakarta, strengthening party structures at the provincial level, and expanding the community support base.

In carrying out his duties, Wibi has several policy and advocacy focuses. Public service reform is one of the policy focuses that is emphasized. Wibi actively encourages digitalization of provincial government services to facilitate public access to health services, education, and public administration. In addition, Economic Empowerment is also Wibi's concern. Through various programs, including his role as Chair of the Indonesian Creative Village Association (ADKI) Jakarta, Wibi initiated collaboration between MSMEs, the government, and local communities to improve economic welfare based on culture. In addition, environment and Infrastructure also do not escape his attention. Wibi consistently fights for flood control policies, green space development, and infrastructure improvements in the Jakarta area.
